MAC Kinky Lipglass (Kinky Boots Collection) Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Kinky Lipglass ($15.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “sheer red with multidimensional glitter.” It’s a medium, warm-toned red with fuchsia and red glitter. NARS Misbehave (P, $26.00) is less sparkly, sheerer. NARS Eternal Red (P, $26.00) is less shimmery. MAC Hell Bound (LE, $15.00) has finer shimmer, darker. MAC Restless (LE, $15.00) is darker. MAC Totally Fab (LE, $20.00) is less sparkly. L’Oreal Sparkle Frenzy (LE, $9.99) is cooler-toned. Chanel Daydream (P, $29.50) is less red. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It’s semi-sheer–I found it somewhat buildable to get between sheer and semi-opaque color, depending on your tolerance for the thickness of your gloss–with lots and lots of glitter. It’s definitely a sparkly, glittery gloss that has some noticeable texture, but it is surprisingly unnoticeable given how full of glitter it is. Despite the brighter, darker color and the opacity level, it applied fairly evenly and didn’t pull into lip lines. The gloss on its own wore well for almost five hours. It’s medium-to-thick, noticeable on, and tacky, which is in line with the Lipglass formula. It’s particularly lovely over your favorite red lipstick (any will do!).

Wow, very nice holiday red. I like how it’s buildable, so you can layer it over another lipstick for more subtle sparkle during day, then build it up for a more dramatic evening look

I normally can’t stand lipglosses – I’m all about strong, opaque colour that lasts long and hate the stickyness and transfer – but I may have to make an exception for this, it is sooo beautiful. Plus, it couldn’t be more perfect for the movie, which is one of my faves.

Wow, how pretty! I rather like the colour of this alone. Also gorgeous layered if you dig the sparkle factor! My tastes have turned away from sparkle lately. But maybe I should hit up the drugstore for a sparkle-free dupe!

This lipglass looks lovely! I was originally going to pass on this collection as I had just purchased Damn Glamorous lipstick, but this could possibly look very nice over DG for an even more amped up red look!

I love this! It reminds me of my favorite all time red: Urban Decay Tart, which is DCd. If anybody knows that TART from UD and has a dupe, please inform me? That was my all time favorite with my pigmented lips, like a MLBB and oomph! Oh how I miss it. It’s nothing like Bite Tart, fyi. Thsts a cherry coral. Christine, do you recall Tart?

UD Lip Gunk in Tart, they don’t make it anymore but it was a sheer red with cool shimmer & a hint of warmth like a deep Apple & it smelled of Apple, too! 😀 circa.. Hmm.. 1999/2000? I wish it was never discontinued.
