Jamie Genevieve

MAC Jamie Genevieve Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium peach with soft, warm yellow undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer that applied smoothly without dragging on my lips. The color applied evenly but pulled away along my lip lines a bit. The lipstick had a lightweight, creamy texture with slight tackiness but adhered well for four and a half hour wear. It was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

This shade is available in the UK now and has a global launch of November.

Formula Overview

$19.00/0.1 oz. - $190.00 Per Ounce

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.

Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.

The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Patricia Bright

MAC Patricia Bright Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and creamy with moderate slip that made it comfortable and easy to apply in a single, fluid motion. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and stayed on well for five hours. The formula felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

This shade is available in the UK now and has a global launch of November.

Going by the IG MAC page, these seem to be tailored to be nudes for two rather specific skintone ranges. One for light into lt.- med tones, and one for dark into not quite deep tones. And even though I fall into the medium/ almost tan range, I absolutely LOVE Patricia Bright’s shade! The other shade would look hideous on me, tbh. Not sure if I actually need Patricia Bright, having Paramount, Deep Love and UD Disturbed, but I really love it!

Same here: Jamie Genevieve would look dreadful on me (I once tried Peachstock in a MAC store… never again…), but Patricia Bright calls for me. 😀 I was actually looking into deep brown territory, thinking about MAC Retro, Paramount or Marrakech.
