Last but not least… the lip gelees aka the best part of the collection, IMO! Okay, let me condition that: if you like shimmer/glitter, check out the lip gelees. If you don’t, you won’t like them. Sorry, these are DAZZLING. And more dazzling than Dazzleglass, too… Also, please note that, like dazzleglasses, these lip gelees do look prettier and more shimmer-tastic in real life. It’s hard to pick up on the multi-reflective, shimmering water feel and look of these in a photograph.
Oh, and by the way? These come with a whopping 0.5 oz. of product. That’s over three times as much product as lipglass. That’s nearly ten times the amount of product in a dazzleglass. Lip Gelees are one of the most affordable lipglosses by the ounce — $28 per ounce.
Lip Gelee ($14.00 U.S. / $16.50 CDN)
- Resort Life is a gilded beige base with silver-ish shimmer. This is the “lightest” of the four, but it has lots of sparkle on the lips. It warms up the natural lip color a bit while adding lots of shimmer (and not much color).
- Shift to Pink is a lilac-y pink with a soft pinky pearl base and lots of brighter lilac and pink shimmer. The lilac/purple is much more noticeable on lips than I anticipated, too. I think it definitely gave my lips a decent amount of color and shimmer when applied. I found this one didn’t apply as evenly as the other three, but with some smooshing, it looks fine from afar.
- Preppy is a semi-sheer, medium fuchsia-pink pearl base with lots of fuchsia shimmer. This is a really pigmented one, actually. It really added plenty of pink to my lips without actually being super hot, fuchsia pink — it’s a very pretty, slightly brightened medium pink with lots of pink and fuchsia shimmer.
- Lush & Bright is a semi-sheer, coral-orange with pink and gold shimmer. This one is the least “frosty” or shimmery, but it still has a nice level of shimmer. This gave my lips a nice peachy-coral look — I’d say this one didn’t go on as a true-to-swatch as the others did, because it’s much lighter on my lips than the skin swatch.

I was soo excited when I saw previews of these, but was let down by how glittery they are. I was hoping for super pearlized gelees, as I thought the theme was. Anyway, I only purchased Lush & Bright because it was the least glittery of the four.
I bought Preppy today and I love it. MOVE OVER, Dazzleglasses. This is probably the very first MAC item I will get a backup in. You did a very nice review on these, too. 🙂
I love love love these by themselves but you’ll notice that on MAC’s website the Cremeblend blushes are marked as lip safe (yeahhh)! The lipgelees look amazing layered over those! I’m in love 🙂 One of my favourite combos is Lush & Bright over Florida… an amazing juicy summer lip colour. *Drools*

LOVE! I wasn’t even excited about this collection… But these beauties stole my heart! I picked up Resort Life and on my skin (MAC NW15) they are gorg and add pop! I want Preppy too but since I pick up two e/s (Banshee and Modelette) I have to control myself… Might just pick another RL and Preppy this weekend though. Love!

thanks so much for the review! i know now that i will skip this collection completely… nothing does it for me. the lip gelees may be the best part of the collection, but honestly, the pigmentation and smoothness isn’t even up to par with some of my favorite very cheap lip glosses. besides, i only like to wear moisturizing/soothing lip products, and i am disappointed by MAC’s lack of lip products that actually feel good on my lips. thank you so much!
i’m personally kinda disappointed with the lip geles, cause i thought that they would be more of a creme and not many sparkles, also it isn’t as pigmented as i had wanted it to be =(

When I went to get All Ages, All Races, All Sexes, I totally skipped Lilly Pulitzer. I think I may be going back for these, though.
I already bought Shift To Pink and Lush & Bright, I need to buy Preppy as soon as I get the chance. Or maybe even 5 of them. Wow, these things are soooo gorgeous, I hope they make more colors as soon as possible. I would love a more pigmented orange/coral color, a gold/yellow one, a blue one, a more purple one, a berry one, etc.
when i saw these ones i instantly knew i had to have all 4 it was really hard for me to pick one or two lol and when i tried them on i was surprised they’re not sticky at all!!!

I am so disappointed in the finish of these- I was really looking forward to a nice, juicy, pigmented gloss with a nice glassy NON shimmer/pearl finish. To me, that’s what the word “gelee” evokes- jelly, or jello. No offense to those that are loving these, but I have to say these don’t look any more special than $5 drugstore tubes.
I am glad to hear the blushes are lipsafe, since it looks like they’ll have the finish I’d hoped for in the lip gelees!

Sure!
They look great on your lips but when I swatched them I found the glitter WAY to big for my taste. I passed on the whole collection, though it is nice and bright.
What about the STICKY factor?
I didn’t find them sticky really, though they seemed a little stickier than the usual lip gelees.
I bought the 4 lip gelees and 2 of the creme blushes. The only things I thought was worthy in the collection.
