Beauty Powders “can be applied as a highlight, soft blush, or overall finish,” according to MAC. The way you might use a particular shade of Beauty Powder very often depends on what your skin tone is. The powder’s consistency was a little firmer with a slight chalkiness, and with the larger sparkly bits, it just wasn’t as smooth or as finely-milled in feel. It blended out fairly well on the skin and yielded a soft sheen, but there are sparkles that sit on the skin, so if you aren’t a fan of that, you might want to look elsewhere. The color lasted for eight hours before fading along the edges.

When will this collection be released?
Online on July 28th and in-stores on August 4th.
I was looking for swatches of this beauty powder like, this morning!! So glad I found it here. I’m definitely going to pick this up along with the blue lipstick (which I think is called midnight troll?). Not sure how I’m going to use it, but it looks pretty. And I can’t deny that I also want it because of the packaging since I’m a collector and I suck at resisting cute mac items. ?
Glad I could help, Arantxa 😀
This is probably the only item that I’m getting from the collection.
Enjoy 😀
It’s funny how the beauty powders are so hit-or-miss. It’s almost like they are just a catch-all for anything that’s not quite as pigmented as a blush, but not quite as dazzling as MSF, etc. Pearl Sunshine and Pearl Blossom are fabulous, but Alpha Girl was so bad I returned it. I was hoping this would be a good one but I will definitely pass on chalky with sparkles ?
Haha! I hear you, Julia. I sometimes feel the same, because the formula isn’t consistent and can be sheerer/more pigmented, but they do tend to be very light and sheerer.
From the looks of the packaging, I was expecting a hot pink beauty powder, but it’s a pretty subtle color. I can see it being used as highlighter or finishing powder
Yeah, both of the Beauty Powders come in hot pink packaging!
I think this will be a Collection to buy just because of the packaging. I am collecting Mac so I like Special packaging and the product itself does not have to be usefull. But if the products Are good it is definitely a plus.
Hopefully you can find a couple that you like the quality of, too!
Oh! This is really pretty on you. Momma needs.
Thank you, Aprill!
It doesn’t look bad at all! But because I already have Nyx Narcissistic and Colourpop Highly Waisted, I’m covered for this.
Phew! 🙂
For your skin tone whst do you prefer to use it as?
I’d use it as a highlighter more than anything else.
that packaging is beyond adorable! I’m so disappointed that it didn’t feel finely milled/smooth… But it’s just too cute to pass up! (ok maybe it isn’t…I’m still debating with myself lol)
Maybe try to check it out in person first? Have you tried any of MAC’s other Beauty Powders?
I definitely will once it’s available here at the pro stores ? I’ve only have ‘pearl blossom’ but I can’t think of anything to use it for besides a blush ?
I’m not really into this collection nor the design. I think it’s cute but I like my packaging classy…
Sorry to hear that!
what is your favorite way to use this particular shade of beauty powder? These products have always kind of confused me. IS it a good setting powder on you? or an overall highlight?
It’s mostly a highlighter on me. It is way too dark to be a setting powder on my skin tone!
Christine! So happy to see you are already reviewing this collection! ?
I have loved trolls since I was a little girl and I had bride and groom trolls as my wedding cake topper when I got married 24 years ago so I was stupid excited (I know, even at my age) when I saw the first sneak peek at this collection. ?
Even though I am not sure how much I will actually use the products it’s good to know which ones are worth buying, even if I am really only buying for the packaging. ?
Aww! I’m happy to hear from fans of the Trolls, since this launch is for y’all!
Had it been finely milled and not chalky I would have bought it, but as it is, it’s a no. Pity I think it would have made a pretty blush for me, a barely there one with unexpected shimmer. Almost talked mysef into geting it there. Must be strong and resist!
Aww, drats 🙁
It’s cute ?. I like your whole look there too!
Thank you, Claire!
I really like this one. I’m not sure how I feel about the large sparkles but the color is very pretty.
Do you think it would work on darker skin tones?
I don’t think you’ll see color but you might slight sheen.
Christine,
Would this be too dark for fair skin(nw15-ish)? How would you recommend using it on light skin? Or do you think Play it Proper would be a better choice? I can’t decide!
Thanks!
I don’t think it would be too dark for fair skin, but how are you trying to use it?
I bought this mac glow rida beauty powder because i’m a sucker for cute packaging… i have fair skin and have no idea how i can make use of it… any advise? thank you
Have you tried dusting it all over or using it as a highlighter?
