MAC Glitter & Ice Dazzleglasses

MAC Glitter & Ice Dazzleglasses ($19.50 for 0.06 oz. each) include six limited edition shades: Dressed to Dazzle (pale dirty pink red and gold pearl), Glitter & Ice (light nude with white and gold pearl), Love Alert (raspberry red with red pearl), Pleasure Principle (clear white violet, teal, and white pearl), She-zam (sheer silver with silver and red pearl), and Spanking Rich (raspberry pink with red and gold pearl). The collection is slated to hit stores on October 27th.

  • Dressed to Dazzle is a pale, pink-tinted gloss with silver sparkle. It adds a pink tinge but mostly glossy shine and some sparkle.
  • Glitter & Ice is a pale, beige-tinted gloss with silver sparkle. On me, it doesn’t impart much color, but it gives shine and sparkle.
  • Love Alert is a pinky-red with fuchsia sparkle. This is one of the more opaque Dazzleglasses, and it is semi-opaque on me. This is part of the permanent range.
  • Pleasure Principle is a yellow-tinted gloss (which shows up virtually clear) with multi-colored sparkle (the sparkle matches the nail polish from this launch). This one has the most interesting sparkle, because it is multi-colored so it dazzles more than the others.
  • She-zam is a clear color base with silver sparkle. It gives my lips a cooler-tone overall.
  • Spanking Rich is a darkened raspberry red with silver and fuchsia sparkle. It is semi-sheer with less color payoff than Love Alert but more than the other four. Dior Outrageous Fuchsia is similar but seems less pink.

Dazzleglasses have a medium-thick consistency with micro-glitter and shimmer. They tend to be sheerer in color with more oomph coming from the dazzle than the base color. The big catch with Dazzleglasses is that despite the seemingly-large tube, each contains only 0.06 oz. (as compared to 0.17 oz. in a Lipglass). When it comes to dupes, just browse through the Sheer Lipgloss Swatch Gallery, because they are, inevitably, similar to each other. I think Pleasure Principle is the most complex of the six, and it will be nice for layering. Love Alert is better for those who want a punch of color, while She-zam may get you closer to foil-like lips for the holidays, so it’s a fun shade.

Your skin looks so fantastic in all of these pictures! And Pleasure Principle looks like a fun shade. I might take a peek at it the next time I swing by MAC.

What are you wearing as a highlight on your cheeks in these pictures? It’s so pretty and I’m wondering if it’s Snowglobe or something else.

Nicole Avatar

This collection has disappointed me so much, which sucks because I am addicted to white packaging and everything looks *gorgeous* in the pan… and just doesn’t deliver. There’s pretty things, but nothing has said to me “COME BUY ME” yet.

That said, Dressed to Dazzle and Glitter and Ice are probably my favourites so far.

The Dressed to Dazzle shade looks super wearable and fun! I imagine it will sell very well! (P.S. Christine whatever foundation you are wearing is AMAZING, you look beautiful as ever!)

Man, this whole collection is looking like a big miss for me so far 😛 But that’s ok, with all of the amazing holiday stuff coming out from other brands, my wallet will appreciate it!

$19.50! Since when? I thought $18.50 was ridiculous. If they were the size of a Lipglass I’d be happy to pay it, but $19.50 for .06 oz is nuts. It’s a shame, because I really like Dazzleglasses. I have She-zam from before (last year?) and I love it, but I’m done buying Dazzleglasses.

From what I’ve seen so far, I can confidently say that I will not spend a penny on this collection. (I’m not sure if I’m relieved or disappointed.)

I loved this collection based on the product info and promo pics but the more swatches I see less excited I am. I like the look of Pleasure Principle the glitter is so lovely.

I agree with Jasmine and Nicole. I love this collection’s white packaging, but I’ll probably just re-stock on “She-Zam” & “Pleasure Principle.”

Dazzleglasses always seemed like such a great idea, but I wish more of them had a stronger color impact. Like you said, “She-Zam” can look foiled, & I love the icy/frosty effect of “Pleasure Principle” (both used over lipstick), but I use most of my other Dazzleglass colors in spring and summer, not really for a “winter holidays” look!

Melody Avatar

I am such a fool for dazzleglass, even though it’s not the best value. I think I can only afford to pick up Pleasure Principle, but I’ll be stalking CCOs for She-Zam.

Liz Avatar

Wow all of them really look good on you, especially spanking rich,. =) Anyways, I was looking over all of mac dazzleglass collections, & i’m just curious, how is Funtabulous compared to Fast Friends lipglass from hello kitty collection? They seem to be the same, are they? Thanks,.
