MAC Giddy, Lip Blossom, Shy Shine Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches

MAC just added several previously released shades (that were limited edition) to their permanent range, and three of them I haven’t already reviewed in the past, so I bought those shades so I could share photos/swatches with you!

MAC Giddy Lipstick ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium pink with warm, rosy undertones and a soft, gold shimmer. Officially, it has a Lustre finish, but the texture wasn’t quite as glossy–a little drier overall–and the pigmentation was mostly opaque, which is unlike traditional Lustres, as those tend to be sheerer. It lasted for three hours on me, but it was somewhat drying. YSL Corail Jalouse (32) (P, $34.00) is less shimmery. Tarte Pink Peony (P, $16.00) is darker. NYX Chic (P, $4.00) is a touch lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Lip Blossom Lipstick ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium, warm-toned pink with a gold, frosted shimmer. The shimmer makes it appear a bit lighter once applied. It had mostly opaque color coverage, and the texture was creamy with some slip. MAC labeled this a Lustre, per the label. It wore well for three and a half hours, but it was a bit drying on me. Guerlain Gems (LE, $51.00) is more orange. MAC Be a Lady (P, $22.00) is less shimmery. Chanel Fleurie (139) (LE, $34.00) is less shimmery. Too Faced Bon Bon (P, $21.00) is darker, warmer, less shimmery. Tarte Pink Peony (P, $16.00) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Have We Met? (108) (P, $30.00) is slightly pinker. Guerlain Giulette (P, $51.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Shy Shine Lipstick ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, muted coral-beige with fine champagne shimmer and a luminous finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage, though it, too, is a Lustre finish according to the brand. The texture was fairly emollient and glided on easily, though slight “lines” were visible if you pressed your lips together. It lasted two and a half hours on me and was lightly drying. Tom Ford Beauty Summer Fling (04) (LE, $49.00) is pinker. Too Faced Taffy (P, $21.00) is lighter. Revlon Pink Lemonade (P, $7.49) is lighter. NYX Chic (P, $4.00) is pinker. MAC Coral Bliss (P, $16.00) is warmer, darker. Guerlain Rose Desir (LE, $51.00) is pinker. Giorgio Armani Blush (500) (P, $32.00) is pinker, darker, more opaque. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

YES! I’ll probably get both. Both shades are wearable and something I can see myself reaching for on an everyday basis. I love that they are lustres, which is MAC’s least drying formula (for my lips).

I agree with you Christine, I love Freckletone and Touch but if I wear them for 8 hours my lips will crack and feel extremely dry and red!

I want all of these! One of my issues with MAC is that while they have plenty of bright pink lipsticks, they don’t have many softer pink ones (or at least any that I like.) All I can say is that I’m glad I’m getting a good tax refund this year.

I’m really not a fan that cosmetic companies keep raising the price, when did they raise the price of the lipsticks? I feel like the Naked palettes were $50 not too long ago and now they’re up to $54…

NEED. All 3. I am not a big mac lipstick girl but I love those. I can’t find them one their website, are they already in store? Thanks for the review 🙂

Lip Blossom is very pretty, but I don’t do Lustres. The colour is reminding me of a Marc Jacobs shade I have and can’t name atm.

I’m still so happy that they brought Giddy… It is the most gorgeous pink on me, since I have a very warm skintone and can’t pull off a lot of pinks.

I still have my original tube, with a little bit left and rancid already, and I still wear it, rancidness and all. I’m really, really glad I can now get another one, maybe even backups!

The otjer two are gorgeous as well!

I love lusters! So glad these are permanent so I can pick up all 3 at my leisure. Still need a replacement for my all-time favorite California Dreaming though.

Bought Giddy last month, it was just okay for me. I wish I saw Blossom, it looks nicer i think. Wasn’t really drying for me but I prefer Cremesheen finishes especially Hot Gossip.

Christine, is there a difference between ‘Lip Blossum’ and ‘Lip Blossom’. I have ‘Lip Blossum’ and I have to say it looks exactly the same. I think mine was an Asia only edition. Got in at the Mac counter in Seoul.

I really like Lip Blossom and Shy Shine! Lip Blossom especially, I love that it’s gold-shimmered. I have just one Lustre (Lovelorn) and I don’t find it drying, but it’s also not hydrating. I do wish they went for a different finish!

oooommmmmggggg. this has made my day. for years shy shine has been in the permanent range in asian countries but not western countries – i’ve been having to stock up every time i go to asia and then try to use my shy shine sparingly so it can last me until my next holiday. this is the best news ever. wooohooo!!!
