Get Lit

MAC Get Lit Hyper Real Glow Palette ($39.50 for 0.45 oz.) is a new trio of very light-hued shades in icy white, pale pink, and soft gold (almost a very golden beige). All three shades performed similarly; they were pigmented, long-wearing, and blendable, while the formula is slightly denser/firmer (but very smooth and finely-milled) and works better with light to moderately-dense brushes. The standard, tapered highlighting brush style works well with them but more feathery-tipped fan brushes may not pick up product as evenly as desired.

It launches February 4th!

Like a Dream

Like a Dream is a bright, bluish-white with cool undertones and a metallic sheen. The highlighter had opaque pigmentation in one layer, which applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even application that blended out without difficulty. It didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture even at higher coverage levels. The texture felt soft and smooth to the touch but was a slightly denser, firmer powder (no powderiness or excess kicked up in the pan) that worked best with less feathery brushes (typical highlighter and blush brushes worked fine with it). This shade lasted well on my cheeks for eight and a half hours before it started to fade.

Get Lit

Get Lit is a bright, pale pink with subtle, cool undertones and a metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a smooth, slightly denser consistency that worked best with a moderately dense brush if one wanted more coverage. The powder blended out easily on my skin and didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Gleam Sheen

Gleam Sheen is a pale gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque color payoff in a single layer, which adhered evenly and blended out easily on my cheekbone, and the finish didn’t accentuate my skin’s natural texture. The powder had a smooth, denser consistency that wasn’t too firmly-pressed in the pan, so it picked up well with standard highlighting brushes (like the typical tapered shape). It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Wow! These would actually highlight even my super pale skin. At the moment, Physicians Formula Butter Pearl or Becca Pearl are pretty much the only ones to show up as a highlight. All my Colourpop ones (which I do love) are either highlighting blushes on me or just good for a very subtle shimmer. On the other hand, $40 when I don’t use highlighters frequently… meh. I wish they were a third the price and sold individually. As it is, I’ll probably pass.

Becca Pearl is my go to as well and I’m also very fair. Have you tried the Natasha Denona Superglow? I was nervous it would be too dark but it doesn’t have a back pigment so it’s just a beautiful sheen. I almost didn’t buy it because it swatches terribly so don’t go by that.

This is beautiful! I have the original pink Hyper Real palette and like it but the three colors are very similar and are a touch dark on me so I have to use a light hand. I think this one will look better on my fair skintone.

I’m not sure how I missed this when it was posted but, once again, I’m seeing a face/highlight palette from which I could happily wear all 3 colours. I think THIS might be the one I’ll pick up (if I pick up any – I truly don’t need any more highlighters but this one had really piqued my interest and considering that I’m finding most new makeup releases not all that interesting any more (simply a case of “seen this, bought that and have it in my stash”), it’s nice to see something I actually want to buy.

I am buying this as soon as it releases! Literally my dream highlighter palette! I’ve been waiting for these colours in the hyper real formula OMG!

I’m very fair with a cool undertone and I always watch/read reviews on products before purchasing a product. Out of the few I have found (two of which being on the Mac website) one is negative saying there is no Pay off! Would you agree with this? I like a blinding highlight so I just want to make sure before I purchase! Thank you in advance!
