MAC Fall Colour: Lipglasses
MAC Fall Colour Lipglasses ($14.50 for 0.17 fl. oz.) includes four shades: C-Thru (peachy beige with shimmer), Good Times (pale mauve), Orange Tempera (pale peach), and Pink Fade (pale pink). These are part of the MAC Fall Colour Collection, which debuts in North America on September 29th, 2011 and rolls out internationally in October. C-Thru is part of the permanent collection, the other three are limited edition.
- C-Thru is a milky beige-nude with pale beige-white shimmer. IT’s semi-opaque and does settle a bit into lip lines. This is a permanent shade. MAC on the Scene is similar. Urban Decay Max is a little more opaque and peach-tinted.
- Good Times is a pale, creamy mauve-pink with nearly opaque color coverage. There is enough milkiness that it does settle into lip lines but the more opaque color hides some of it. Good Times is more opaque than MAC Going Casual but less pink than MAC Splashing. FYI, it just came out with MAC Me Over.
- Orange Tempera is a soft, light-medium peach with a creamy look. There is some settling into lip lines but it is on the more opaque side and applies fairly evenly. It is lighter than MAC Illicit.
- Pink Fade is a really cool-toned, blue-based pale pink with a creamy milkiness that encourages settling into lip lines. The coverage is mostly opaque and applies fairly evenly. It is lighter than MAC Viva Glam Gaga. It is a little cooler-toned than MAC Enchantee.
I’m not a big fan of the way MAC’s creamier lipglasses look on lips–they tend to settle into lip lines and apply unevenly. The thickness of the lipglass texture can make it harder to get even color coverage because it doesn’t glide as easily as a thinner gloss would. Lipglass is a sticky formula with a vanilla scent that typically wears three to fours on me. I don’t find the moisturizing, but I don’t usually find them drying either. I recommend creamier shades like these over a lip liner or lipstick.

The lipglasses are the ones that I’m skipping in this collection. I cannot do lipglasses that settle in the lips but they do look pretty though.
Orange Tempera is the only one I’m interested in. It’s what I was hoping Illicit would look like.
How silly of MAC to release Good Times twice so close together. Orange Tempera is sorta nice, but none of these are particularly special to me.
I’m still confused by it. I felt like more than C-Thru was familiar but nope, Good Times too!
I do really love the colour of Good Times!! I feel this will look gorgeous over a lot of lipsticks.. But the sticky lip glosses drive me mad =( Do you know of any exact dupes for this with a non sticky texture??
I listed any/all dupes I could think of in the post!
I’ve ended up ordering it anyways!!
Thanks so much for the pics!!
<3 =)
i don’t understand why orange tempera is called orange tempera since it doesn’t look orange at all.it does still look pretty though but not just what i’m looking for.
i cant believe so many of you have clicked leave it! i really like these.. not sure ill actually buy them all, but i like them all.
really? they all look so unappealing to me, I think it’s mostly the fact that they settle so badly into lip lines, but the colors don’t actually grab me either. Orange Tempera has some potential..
I’m so skipping the lipglasses. I’m anxiously awaiting the lipstick review. That’s really the ONLY part of the collection I’m interested in. I’ve already pre-ordered for Violetta and Show Orchid. I plan on getting Bright Plum, i think it’s called, as well.
I am in the minority but I really like Pink Fade. Anything that is a soft/pale pink is usually a win for me 🙂
MAC is really making me prefer NARS for my lipgloss needs.
Hi Christine, wondering if there’s is a lipstick dupe for orange tempera (either high end or ds)? Really love the color but not a fan of lipglasses or glosses in general. Thanks! And is orange tempera similar to peach petal lipgloss by revlon?
I don’t have that Revlon gloss, sorry! 🙁
I have Good Times already from MAC Me Over. I really love Pink Fade and Orange Tempera.
So few of MAC’s lipglasses call to me. These aren’t any different.
I love these colours – I always use glosses over lipstick so theres never the problem of setting in lines! 🙂
I like creamier lipglosses I’m going to need orange tempura.
I’m really dissapointed in this collection, none of them seem appealing at all. It almost looks like paste glue on her lips. A definite pass on my end.
Orange Tempera is pretty…not sure if it’s pretty enough to make me buy it though!
I really dislike how these all settle in the lip lines. I’m also confused why a collection of pastel colors would be released for a Fall collection – makes no sense. These are a huge pass for me.
I’m actually really tempted by Orange Tempera or C-Thru. They were what I was hoping for when I ordered a CandyDoll lipgloss and it ended up way too opaque.
Orange tempera is the only one I’d bother to purchase despite poor texture
Christine, can you please, please, PLEASE do a post comparing Pink Fade to Viva Glam Gaga I??? I’ve been on the HUNT for a dupe VGGI lipglass and cannot find one yet! Thanks!
Please look in the Swatch Gallery 🙂 I already explained how they differ in this post but if you need to see them side by side, that’s why we built the gallery 🙂
You’re great! Thank you much!
Haha, that’s a pretty small percentage of people who “love it!” I don’t look at Specktra much these days, so I hadn’t even heard about this. I guess it’s not going to be a popular collection. I do have to say though, that on Christine, and with that eyeshadow, Orange Tempera is win!
The colours are pretty, but they look like they really settle into lines, so I’m going to pass on these.
Thank you so much for swatching these, though. 🙂
I have to say that C-Thru was the very first product I purchased from MAC and to this day its my everyday grab and go color that goes with everything. I guess I’m in the minority when I say that I love MAC’s creamier lipglosses. I’m going to have to get Orange Tempura.
