MAC Cosmetics Gold Fever Swatches

GOLD FEVER also launched today at Nordstrom locations. It’s pretty much a launch of products that already exist in the permanent line, so I’m not doing a review, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask and I’ll be happy to answer 🙂

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

It’s already out on the Nordstrom website. Yes sharkskin is with this collection thank goodness. I love liquid last eyeliner, beautiful payoff but they’re sooooo hard to get off lol. Uhm all of this stuff is either permanent at the MAC store or a repremote. I’d get sharkskin, that’s my only real must have… now there are some wants, but I’m on a budget personally and I’m saving up for real limited edition stuff.

What i’ve known so far is that Sharkskin is now a paint pot called Blackground (not sure). In Canada, you can get it at The Bay and all MAC PRO stores. I was also told that their trying to DISC. all shadesticks.

I’d like to point out that Silverstroke, Brassy, Auto-Orange and Penny are all perm items that were recently discontinued.

Putting them in a “collection launch” strikes me as an effort to sell the unwanted product faster. MAC, I slap you up the head for this assault on my intelligence.

The glitters aren’t eyesafe (or at least, aren’t sanctioned as such). I’m not entirely sure their reasoning (because it can run the gamut to simply irritating to actually causing long-term problems, e.g. scratching the cornea). I use glitters sparingly, and the only ones I’ll even chance putting near my eyes are the Reflects, because they’re ultra fine.

But some things you can do (some of these aren’t for everyday or anything)…

– Mix with hair spray/water and spritz on hair (or mix it with a pomade)
– Apply to cheeks for a glittery look
– Add to lipgloss
– Mix with a nail polish
– Body glitter

Yeah, I was thinking maybe they’d take the shadestick and spray paint the containers gold… you know, just for the sake of the theme of the repromote. Wonder how old they are? 😉
My Nordies in Utah didn’t get Sharkskin either, but I’ve got my favorite MA cruising for some. Otherwise I guess I’ll buy online.
