MAC Barefaced Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Barefaced Blush
MAC Barefaced Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone warm nude [with a satin finish].” It’s a medium, slightly subdued, warm brown with hints of orange/tan and a satiny sheen. NARS Silvana is warmer, lighter, yellower in tone. NARS Madly is very similar–a smidgen browner, at most. Burberry Earthy is more matte and browner. MAC Poised is rosier but if you have pink undertones, it may appear similarly on. MAC Equilibrium is browner.
It has a beautiful finish; the satin sheen gives it a glowing, pearly look that gives the skin a healthy glow without emphasizing pores. The color payoff is fantastic–true-to-pan and buildable–and should work well as a blush on fair to medium-dark complexions (it may get lost on deeper skin tones and work more as a highlighter). The texture is soft, smooth, and silky, and the powder blends out easily on the skin. It lasted almost eight hours well; there was a bit of fading along the edges but no patchiness.
P.S. — The Nudes & Metallics Collection may be frustrating to find. When it launched in PRO stores on the 18th, every store I called was sold out of over half the collection already. The online launch date has been pushed to mid-June (no specific date was given). It is supposed to be for PRO only, which may mean that it is restricted to PROs only even online, but you should be able to call MAC PRO at 1-800-387-6707 and order (for anyone, PRO and non-PRO alike) per a LiveChat I did this morning.

This one looks like a non metallic version of gold deposit.
very pretty bronzy tones 🙂
Is this close to Modern Mandarin?
Modern Mandarin is much more orange!
It looks amazing on you! <3 I don't think it would suit me, at least not enough to try and faff around with getting it, but I like it.
Really like this shade a lot!
This is the sort of shade I go for, but tracking it down just isn’t worth it; I’d rather pay 2X the price for the Burberry Earthy, or pick up another pan of Revlon Sandalwood Beige (although not a “dupe”, it’s close enough). I also have NARS Zen, which again, not an exact dupe, I feel it can fill the void in my stash for this sort of shade.
This is a nice shade, but not worth the search. And the MAC Pro near me is in Miami Beach, so about an hour away. It’s not worth the drive down there.
I love this! My favorite blush is MAC Gingerly, and this seems somewhat similar.
this is so pretty. I’m very sad because I will never be able to get my hands on these. I don’t have a MAC pro store anywhere near me, the closet one is about 12 hours away from me. 😐
I don’t have the energy to try & find any of this collection, beautiful or not! I’m not playing MAC’s game this time!!!!
It looks great on you, Christine!
It looks beautiful on you Christine. The swatch reminded me of mac margin blush.
Interesting color! It looks very natural on you, but it might be too orange for me to get away with it. Maybe with more of a tan I could pull it off! It looks super smooth though!
Hey Christine, great review, as usual! What foundation are you using? It looks amazing!
Giorgio Armani Maestro!
It looks amazing! We don´t have Giorgio Armani here, pity…
This is a really beautiful shade. I have a La Femme blush, I think it’s called Au Naturelle, very very similar
Hey Christine, I love the overall look on you! So minimal yet both the blush and lipstick are truly flattering!
Nars Madly seems a lot more neutral than this which seems to have a fair bit of orange in it. I’ll stick to madly for my skintones 🙂
Looks great on you, Christine! What’s the closest eyeshadow color you’ve seen to this shade in any brand?
MAC Glimpse of Flesh!
Hi Christine! I was wondering if this was similar to NARS Gina?
Gina is more orange and lighter!
This is so beautiful and natural looking on you!
How does that compare to Mac garb blush?
Garb is more orange/peach, more matte.
every time I’ve loved what you’re wearing on the lips it’s been something Burberry 🙂 sadly I don’t think they sell them in Sweden so buying untried is the only option…
