MAC Barefaced Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Barefaced Blush

MAC Barefaced Blush ($21.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone warm nude [with a satin finish].” It’s a medium, slightly subdued, warm brown with hints of orange/tan and a satiny sheen. NARS Silvana is warmer, lighter, yellower in tone. NARS Madly is very similar–a smidgen browner, at most. Burberry Earthy is more matte and browner. MAC Poised is rosier but if you have pink undertones, it may appear similarly on. MAC Equilibrium is browner.

It has a beautiful finish; the satin sheen gives it a glowing, pearly look that gives the skin a healthy glow without emphasizing pores. The color payoff is fantastic–true-to-pan and buildable–and should work well as a blush on fair to medium-dark complexions (it may get lost on deeper skin tones and work more as a highlighter). The texture is soft, smooth, and silky, and the powder blends out easily on the skin. It lasted almost eight hours well; there was a bit of fading along the edges but no patchiness.

P.S. — The Nudes & Metallics Collection may be frustrating to find. When it launched in PRO stores on the 18th, every store I called was sold out of over half the collection already. The online launch date has been pushed to mid-June (no specific date was given). It is supposed to be for PRO only, which may mean that it is restricted to PROs only even online, but you should be able to call MAC PRO at 1-800-387-6707 and order (for anyone, PRO and non-PRO alike) per a LiveChat I did this morning.

It looks amazing on you! <3 I don't think it would suit me, at least not enough to try and faff around with getting it, but I like it.

This is the sort of shade I go for, but tracking it down just isn’t worth it; I’d rather pay 2X the price for the Burberry Earthy, or pick up another pan of Revlon Sandalwood Beige (although not a “dupe”, it’s close enough). I also have NARS Zen, which again, not an exact dupe, I feel it can fill the void in my stash for this sort of shade.

this is so pretty. I’m very sad because I will never be able to get my hands on these. I don’t have a MAC pro store anywhere near me, the closet one is about 12 hours away from me. 😐

every time I’ve loved what you’re wearing on the lips it’s been something Burberry 🙂 sadly I don’t think they sell them in Sweden so buying untried is the only option…
