In the MAC Magnetic Nude collection, there are three shades of Extra Dimension Blush ($25.00 for 0.22 oz.) releasing. The collection will be available in-stores and at-counter on December 26th.

At Dusk is described as a “dirty cool pink [with a Satin finish].” It’s a light-medium, neutral-to-cool-toned pink with a warmer, golden satin sheen. This was originally released this past April, so if you purchased from that collection, you may already have this one! When I tested it in April, it wore well for seven hours but was faded after eight hours of wear. I hope to re-test this later on this week, but I prioritized wearing the new shades first 🙂 The texture actually felt a little better this time around; it didn’t feel like there was any waxy film sitting on it at all–it was soft, finely-milled, and had good color payoff from the get-go. It’s a lighter color in general, though, so it will tend to show up better on fairer complexions. It did not emphasize pores. Urban Decay Overexposed (LE) is warmer, more matte. MAC Rosy Outlook (P, $23.50) is similar. MAC The Perfect Cheek (LE, $21.00) is darker, cooler-toned. Illamasqua Naked Rose (P, $26.00) is pinker. Burberry Misty (P, $42.00) is cooler-toned. Bobbi Brown Peony (LE, $26.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches.

Autoerotique is described as a “dirty coral rose [with a Satin finish].” It’s a medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a soft, satin finish. It had excellent color payoff, and the texture was very soft and easy to blend and apply to the skin. If anything, it can be a little powdery at times, and you’ll want to use a light hand and build up the color to ensure you get the intensity you desire. It wore well for seven hours but was noticeably faded by the eighth hour. Tarte Dazzled (P) is mor emuted, less pink. NARS Day Dream (LE, $29.00) is similar. Illamasqua Sleek (P, $26.00) is more orange. NARS Soulshine (Together) (LE, $29.00) is brighter, more shimmery. NARS Amour (P, $29.00) is brighter, darker. MAC Fleet Fast (LE, $21.00) is slightly warmer. Chanel Fleur de Lotus (LE, $43.00) is a touch pinker, lighter. See comparison swatches.

Pleasure Model is described as a “soft terracotta with pearl [with a Satin finish].” It’s a medium, coppered brown with warm undertones and a satiny sheen. It had fantastic pigmentation–very, very intense with little product needed–and the consistency was soft, smooth, and easy to blend on the skin. The finish was luminous without emphasizing pores, while the color lasted seven and a half hours before fading. MAC Bad Girl Gone Good (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery. Chanel Destiny (61) (P, $38.00) is browner, cream product. NARS Luster (P, $29.00) is lighter, more shimmery. NARS Gina (P, $29.00) is lighter, browner. MAC Eternal Sun (P, $23.50) is browner. MAC Coppertone (P, $21.00) is more matte, lighter. MAC Shape the Future (LE, $30.00) is warmer, more orange. Illamasqua Expose (P, $26.00) is more orange, matte. See comparison swatches.

If there is a product where my stash is pretty much at max. capacity, it would be blush. But, I can’t help loving Autoerotique and Pleasure Model nonetheless. They both look great on you, but I’m certain l I have similar enough dupes for every one of these to safely let these go by. Your swatches and comparisons are once again incredibly helpful.

I was really looking forward to At Dusk last time, as it looked so perfect in the pan, but when applied, it was way too pink. I ended up with Brit Wit that day, but now I’m prowling for ancolormdupe in powder form.

I have At Dusk from the first promotion, as well as the other 4 original ED blush, and I have to say these blush age remarkably well! I didn’t care for them much brand new, as the pigment was difficult to pick up with a brush… I hated ruining the pretty pattern, anyway. I took them out when I saw these new ones to decide if I really need the 2 new colors, and to my surprise, all 5 original colors are much easier to lift with my brush and and apply then they were when they were new! I still think a few of the original colors (At Dusk included) are a little too pale for blush, but at least At Dusk has more color than the fairest of the first set’s palest color. I’m an NC15, and At Dusk barely offers enough noticeable color to my face to make it worth the trouble. The ED formula is great, because it’s much more forgiving on skin that is less-than-perfect, like mine. Definitely getting the 2 new ones!

OO! Nice! That might explain why the first ones were so difficult to swatch LOL I guess I put them away and forgot about them for a long time, but now they’re all wonderful–better than new. It’s like finding a great surprise in my makeup stash! HAHA

And it was BARENESS that was ridiculously pale in the first ones. Even on my inner forearm, it barely leaves any color in the heaviest swatch, and I’m about NC10 there. It’s a great blush, for a ghost. At Dusk is VERY light, but wearable (and pretty) but the 3 deeper colors are much nicer.

Are Autoerotique and pleasure Model similar to Fiery Impact and Flaming Chic from spring 2013 collection. I already have Fiery Impact and Flaming Chic. What would you suggest.
Everything looks so perfect on you.

Hi Meg!

Fiery Impact is more orange than Autoerotique, less brown/more red than Pleasure Model – http://www.temptalia.com/mac-fiery-impact-extra-dimension-blush-review-photos-swatches
Flaming Chic is lighter, pinker, less warm-toned compared to Autoerotique – http://www.temptalia.com/mac-flaming-chic-extra-dimension-blush-review-photos-swatches

I think Autoerotique is closer to Fiery Impact than Pleasure Model is. I was a little surprised by how different PM & FI are in person, but Autoerotique is almost a lighter version of FI. Almost. 🙂

Christine, do you recommend autoerotique for nc42 skin? also which skin finish do you recommend to wear with it? im looking for the whole “glowy” look!

thank you
