MAC AMAZON PRINCESS BLUSH DUO ($24.00 for 0.38 oz.) is described as a bright yellow pink and deep blue pink with gold pearl. The official descritpion baffles me, honestly! The blush itself is super-sized, being about the size as a Beauty Powder. A normal blush is 0.21 oz. ($18.50), while this is almost double the quantity. In comparable terms, the normal size is $88/oz. and the mega size is $63/oz. Despite the larger size, the way they split the blush still makes it a little difficult to use the smaller shade alone (I tried using the 116–you have to be careful, not a lot of room).

The larger side of the blush is a cool-toned, blue-based magenta pink with a satin finish, which is very pigmented and easy to over-do, so use a light hand. The smaller side of the blush is a dark berried pink with soft gold sheen, and it is also nicely pigmented.

final thoughts: This will suit cooler skin tones, because of the stronger blue-base in the magenta shade. Because of the intensity of the colors, it will work beautifully on darker complexions.

These are gorgeous colors, and they look great on you! I think I’m probably too pale to pull something this bright off, though. Thanks for getting all these reviews out so quickly!

The larger side is definitely cooler toned, your descriptions are always bang-on. I’m confused as to why MAC describes it as yellow based. Although, for foundations, they consider yellow undertones as cool, if I recall correctly. Perhaps that’s why?

I think that the colours are too strong, show off too much, you definitely have to have a light hand touch if you don’t want to look like a clown. Not my cup of tea, I’ll pass!

Are these the same size as a normal MSF?

I’m wondering because I’d love to pop it out and put my natural MSF in the container. That way it’s a lot cuter, and has a mirror!

Eek cookor is way too bright…looks like costume makeup colors, i love wonder woman and was excited about this but after seeing the swatches i think i’ll pass on this collection

I don’t like these colours, they are too bright, although with a light hand I expect they’d look okay. I don’t want to buy these in a super sized compact though as I just wouldn’t use them. They’d look great on dark skin though.

Thx for the reply! I love the color combination of your lips and cheeks. Gorgeous!! I’m not really liking the package but the product itself seems great!

I can’t decide whether to get this or Mighty Aphrodite, but after seeing how bright this is, I’ll probably grab the latter. One problem though, I’m cool toned and pale (not too pale and I have freckles) do you think that Mighty Aphrodite would still work on me?

I’m so excited for this! I wasn’t really excited about this collection at first glance, but I definately am now. Also, I am in love with that bright magenta pink color 🙂

I bought mighty aphrodite today and it looks really nice but im still undecided whether to buy amazon princess as well…I have a quite pale skin tone (NW20), do you think it would look too intense?

I just want to say, thank you so much for your review!!! This is my FIRST blush from MAC. I was really interested in the collection. It’s very pigmented.

I’ve Got Yellowish Orange Undertones, I Think I’m Around An NW 43 Kind Of Shade, I’m Wondering Whether Amazon Princess Or Mighty Aphrodite Will Look Better? Also If Marquis’d Would Suit My Skin Tone?

Christine,
Can you tell me if this is a dupe of Love Rock Mineralize Blush from the Grand Duo’s collex.? Love Rock is the most flattering blush I have ever come across and I am dying to find a dupe!!! Thanks! Also any suggestions for other dupes would be very very apprecited!
