L'Oreal Light (01) True Match Lumi Bronze It Review & Swatches

Light (01)
L’Oreal Light (01) True Match Lumi Bronze It ($14.99 for 0.41 oz.) is a light-medium brown with subtle, warm undertones with a fine, golden sheen. The base pigmentation seemed desaturated and almost neutral-warm, while the addition of fine, golden pearl gave it a warmer look once applied and blended out. The texture was soft, drier to the touch with some powderiness in the pan, but it applied evenly and blended out nicely along the edges for a seamless application. The pigmentation was opaque, which was its only “downfall” as it was designed to be buildable–with a very light touch, you could build up the product (but this is true of most pigmented products!). It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to be "buildable" that gives "an instant sun-kissed glow" to the skin. There are three shades, and all three were very pigmented--they can be used with a lighter hand for more gradual pigmentation (true of most pigmented products). The consistency was on the softer side with slight powderiness that was mostly present in the pan, as the powders sat well on my skin once applied. The bronzers blended out easily on my skin and stayed on well for seven to eight hours on me.

I DO wish that this one was a more buildable formula as advertised! As I actually appreciate a sheerer wash of a lighter tone of bronzer to use as a slight faux tan during summer, as I do not lie out in the sun or purposely tan. So far, I sort of like the MAC Aaliyah bronzer Baby Girl for that purpose, as it only warms up my face a slight bit and adds a slight sheen. Looks great when I use it with Essence Satin Love blush!
I picked this up months ago at Walmart and love it. I’m pale and it’s not too dark or orange on me which I for me is hard to find with how my undertones come through. I also think it’s a good dupe for Tom Ford bronzers size and color wise….
It’s also honestly one of my only bronzers bc I love it so much and is my drugstore HG, my only other is Burberry Blush in Earthy great Bronze for Fair-Light IMO
I will be adding a third to collection with Too Faced Natural Lust Satin Bronzer the promo swatches look very nice and I love peacocks 🙂 hope to see your review on that soon!
Same here, it’s the only true bronzer I own because it works with my pale skin and doesn’t try to make me tan–which is a color I never become naturally.
The sheerness with the slight glow is what attracted me to it, not totally matte but definitely not totally glowy or sparkly either. And I don’t have to worry that I look like I have a smudge of dirt on me if I miss a spot when I’m blending. It just adds subtle depth to my color and that’s what I want. With setting spray it lasts all day on me.
I agree with everyone else – great shade and not too much pigmentation for those with fair skin. I love the subtle sheen this gives, plus the pan size… but it’s still not beating my Butter bronzer.
