Formula Overview
$11.99 -
The formula is supposed to have "bold color impact" with a "glossy, high-shine finish" and has the "lasting wear" of a lip stain. When they're good, they're good: pigmented, high-gloss, and comfortable to wear without being too tacky and not prone to feathering.
It was very similar to YSL's Glossy Stains, and I had similar issues applying some of the lighter shades in the YSL range as I did in this one. One of the issues was that the staining power of the formula itself really interfered with the lighter pigments, which resulted in an uneven look--like I applied a milky gloss over a lip stain.
They had a smooth, lightweight consistency that was spreadable as it was thin and more watery initially, and as it "set," it developed a thicker, almost gel-like feel that was still lightweight and comfortable to wear but had light tackiness, which helped to keep it in place over time.
These left strong, reddish stains behind (they didn't vary much, just warmer/cooler takes on red) after they wore off, which was around five to six hours overall.
They had a powdery, floral scent but no discernible taste.

Be Courageous is oddly just right for summer (and autumn and winter, too!) for me anyway. It’s a surface of the sun level of hot and spicy!
A tiny bit icky, but mostly good to wear – these look fabulous and I love the colours.
I think I might be able to wear Be Fiery. I like warm red lipsticks, but generally I gravitate to neutral and cooler reds. I just have to go warmer with the rest of the makeup for warmer lips.
I really like Be Fiery, the name is spot on, I think, though it really isn’t the selling point. It looks sort of juicy and fresh and the shade is so summery.
