LORAC Aqua Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil
LORAC Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil ($20.00 for 0.01 oz.) is supposed to be a long-wearing, waterproof pencil eyeliner that is “highly pigmented.” It’s a decent formula, but there are better ones on the market–for a late entry in the market like this, I wanted these to perform better. They’re water-resistant, but they will smudge somewhat if you rub or apply pressure to them with any water–if you just dabbed with a tissue (e.g. you teared up), they hold up fine. The overall wear was on the shorter side, averaging between seven and eight hours, with a waxy consistency that glided well across the skin but sometimes had a faded, muted look applied.
LORAC Aqua Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil ($20.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a muted blue with a hint of green–not enough to be a teal–and silver sparkle. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in one stroke, and it didn’t build up too much beyond that, though it was fairly even applied. It wore well for seven hours before noticeably smudging. KVD Beauty Dali (P, $19.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Chanel Sweet Star (LE, $29.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Siahi (P, $16.00) is darker (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
LORAC Dark Green Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil ($20.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a muted, dark forest green with subtle, warm olive undertones and lighter gold and emerald green shimmer. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in a single pass, but it was creamy enough that the color built up well to mostly opaque coverage without becoming uneven. I liked this one the most out of the three I bought. Sephora Go For a Ride (DC, $10.00) is brighter, more pigmented, better quality (95% similar). NARS Night Porter (P, $24.00) is darker, cooler (95% similar). Urban Decay Zodiac (LE, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Devotion (P, $20.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Sephora T-Rex (DC, $10.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Nepturnt (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty O(vert) (56) (P, $26.00) is warmer (90% similar). Chanel Khaki Intense (951) (LE, $34.00) is less shimmery, brighter (90% similar). MAC Swamped (P, $17.00) is lighter (90% similar). NARS Night Porter (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, brighter, cooler (85% similar). Chanel Jungle Green (948) (P, $34.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Mildew (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). Stila Midnight Green (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Green Lights (Matte) (PiP, ) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). Chanel Legendary Green (857) (LE, $34.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Loaded (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
LORAC Nude Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil ($20.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a light beige with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff in one go, and it had a light-medium creaminess to it that made it easy to apply to the lash line without tugging. I only got seven hours of wear out of this shade before it had migrated/smudged. KVD Beauty Swanly (P, $18.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Risque (P, $17.00) is darker (90% similar). Makeup Geek Nude (DC, $9.00) is lighter (90% similar). Sephora Coconut (DC, $10.00) is darker (85% similar). ColourPop HoneyDude (LE, $7.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Walk of Shame (P, $20.00) is darker (80% similar). NARS Rue Bonaparte (P, $24.00) is lighter (95% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Are these supposed to be like shadow sticks? Or just eyeliner?
They’re eyeliners.
I was hoping these would do a little better. I noticed the Dark Green in a few of the “Eye Looks” you have done and it’s quite pretty. But, I have Sephora’s Go For a Ride and it seems to be better. I agree-just better pencils at tis or lower price points. Any chance you have the grey one?
These are the only ones I bought!
No problem! I guess that’s for the best as it seems the formula is just not that great unfortunately. Thanks!
The colors are pretty, and they are nice for a more muted look, but at $20, it needs to outperform liners that are much cheaper, and it doesn’t. The Sephora Contour Matte Gel one is only $14. Espresso is crazy long-wearing. I was walking around for 2 hours in 85 F weather, no shade, sweating like crazy, and it never budged on my oily lids. The Bare Minerals Round the Clock for $16 also wears like iron. As soon as a sale hits, I’m probably going to grab one in every color.
The bareMinerals Round the Clock Liners are really nice!!
I like the shades, but I like longer wear with my oily lids.
Same here 🙁
Thanks for the heads up on these! They’re not all that impressive, especially considering that I have better quality dupes for two of these. I’ll glady take Sephora Go For A Ride and MAC Siahi over these any day.
Sephora Go For a Ride is SO SO good.
Remind me what nude eyeliners are for? I use an NYX stick similar to this to dab onto red spots at the corners of my nose, etc., and a clear liner to help apply matte lip products…..but not sure how a “nude” or other flesh-colored pencil is used for eyes.
A lot of people like to wear it for brightening!
Ohhh – love that blue and forest green – gorgeous colours. But I don’t know that I would pay that much for an eye pencil that wasn’t so great.
I wish these were better!
These remind me of the Marc Jacobs Highliner gel pencils.
I thought they would be, but the formula leaves a lot to be desired.
I personally love these especially the Violet shade. We sell them at Kohl’s I believe that there’s a 15 second setting time, from what the Lorac Pro had told me but there’s been times where I’ve swatched these on my hand and throughout the day washed my hands and they still didn’t budge. The only downside for me is the sharpener but I find the color selection and formula pretty nice
Aqua is nice but I’m not sure I’d wear it.
