Lipstick Queen Mornin' Sunshine Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
Mornin' Sunshine
Lipstick Queen Mornin’ Sunshine Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a natural finish. It had semi-sheer color that looked more like a lip stain than a lipstick applied.
It’s supposed to give a “wash of happy color” (which is described as “Yellow [that] turns to sheer coral on the lips”) that is “super moisturizing and long-lasting.” The consistency was lightweight, thin without feeling clingy, and glided across the lips without tugging. It was comfortable to wear, moderately hydrating, and lasted for four and a half hours on me.

How does this one compair to their Sailor and Frog Prince colors? Not color wise, but transformation wise. Their Sailor doesn’t really show up in me for some reason. Stays blue toned til I take it off. ?
I don’t think I’ve tried the Sailor One, while Frog Price shows up darker + more coral!
Thank you Christine.
Always a fun idea (color-changing lipsticks) but I have found that these can nsistently turn out horribly on me! I have tried a few from different brands including the Dior Addict Lip Glow, and I can pretty much count on them going a crazy shade of hot pink on my lips, no matter what the claims or other people’s results are. I’ve decided I’m much better off just picking something that’s already in it’s end-state color, no surprises that way! ?
Totally hear ya, Julia! These types of products aren’t my thing either!
How does this compare to Frog Prince? It seems very similar to me.
You can compare any two in the Swatch Gallery!
Frog Prince is darker and warmer on me!
Not discounting Christine’s comment, but Frog Prince is a very sheer cool pink on me (almost Barbie). I can’t imagine a cooler color, but I haven’t tried this one.
These color changing lipsticks are affected by chemistry, so comparing how one is relative to the other on someone else’s lips probably won’t help in the end, unfortunately.
I need to try one of their transforming shades one day. lol
Worth a shot 🙂
Since I’ve got a funny feeling that the end color is at least somewhat dependent on ones underlying lip color, I would have to try it on and see what it does on my weird lips. Hopefully, it will turn into a pretty coral….and not plum or mauve.
It definitely will depend on what you naturally have, since it is sheerer!
Yay! I have been waiting to see when you would start reviewing Lipstick Queen’s products as they are kind of hard to find in person and are a bit more than average lipstick (I guess $20 is average for me). They do tend to be like balms or stains, huh? Looks good on you. Will you be covering more from this brand?
This is all I have right now, I’m very sorry – I am really behind on everything, per usual!
Don’t be sorry, haha! You do such a great job! Thanks for responding.
I’m skipping. Looks fun, but in past, I’ve tried some of these color-adjusting lippies, and they always turn into some horrible shade of neon hot pink that looks terrible on me.
lol, awww!
For a moment I was excited to see a yellow lipstick. lol Of course it’s a color-changer.
Awww!
Frog Prince was a touch warm looking for me, maybe this is a better alternative.
It could be!
I will buy this just because it looks so good. The packaging and the lipstick itself not how it looks on the lips.
Enjoy it, Kylie! 😀
!!!!!
I love this so much! It’s BEAUTIFUL. AND it’s lightly moisturizing?? sign me up!
Yep! Lightly moisturizing 🙂
I wonder how this compares with Bobbi Brown Pink Popsicle?
I’m not sure!
I almost hoped it didn’t perform well so I could skip it, lol. Looks like it’s back in the cart!
Aww!
Okay, I kind of extra super love this. It’s so weird and cheery and sheer! 😀
Haha! 😉
I absolutely love mornin sunshine! It turns into a really beautiful coral on me whereas frog prince is very pink on me and hello sailor is Berry color. It feels so good on too. Hyrdrating and gives me a really beautiful youthful look on my lips. I am a little obsessed with color changing lipsticks and have them from many different brands.
It is funny that you and I are opposites between Frog Prince and Mornin’ Sunshine!! I feel like Frog Prince is more coral on me!
Yes! Frog prince is a very warm but bright pink on me of that makes any sense. And mornin sunshine is a very coral shade but not bright it’s softer. It does definitely look more pink on you!! Still very pretty though! You always wear colors so well!
This one looks so perfect with the blush you’re wearing.
I can honestly see real psychological value to popping open a tube of “sunshine” and layering it on your lips, regardless of how the color comes out. Very uplifting! Unfortunately, I’m more the tube of “darkness” type. 🙂
Coral is my best color but I don’t like to be surprised with my lipstick shades, so I might have to pass on this one.
