Linda Hallberg Metallic Mysteries II Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Metallic Mysteries II
Linda Hallberg Cosmetics Metallic Mysteries II Eyeshadow Quad ($59.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that includes a sparkling gold, deep brown, rich emerald green, and muted red. Collision is a repeat from the original Metallic Mysteries Quad (and was consistent with how well it worked in the original), and the other three shades are new. The new shades are very pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing, while Collision is going to work best for someone who tends to use their eyeshadows with a dampened brush or fingertips to maximize coverage and minimize fallout.

Collision
Collision is a medium gold with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation applied dry, and it had more opaque coverage applied with a wet brush, though I found it seemed to be a bit more opaque in practice (on my lid) than when I swatched it on my arm. This shade is a repeat from the original Metallic Mysteries palette. It applied best using a flat, synthetic brush and pressing motions onto my lid, though I’d recommend dampening the brush for better coverage and adhesion, along with wear. It lasted for seven and a half hours with some fallout dry and nine hours damp.

Epsilon
Epsilon is a dark, taupe-brown with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was opaque regardless of whether I applied it dry or wet, though the finish intensified to a more metallic finish when used wet, as anticipated. The consistency was soft, blendable, and smooth to the touch, which helped it apply evenly to bare skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours when I used it dry and nine hours when I used it wet.

Draco
Draco is a deep, emerald green with a smokier, almost black base and fine, metallic shimmer. Applied dry, it had opaque pigmentation and a more pearl-like finish, which lasted well for eight and a half hours on me. Applied wet, it had opaque color coverage with a metallic sheen that stayed on well for nine hours on me. I found the texture to be soft, smooth, and blendable with a slightly denser feel, as there wasn’t any excess product kicked up in the pan.

Arcturus
Arcturus is a deep red with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. When applied dry, it had the same coverage and similar depth when used wet, but the dampened application yielded a shinier finish. The consistency was soft, smooth, and dense without being stiff to work with. It applied well to bare skin and lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me dry and nine hours when I used it wet.

This is a very lovely quad! If I didn’t have the first one and the Bronze seduction palette, I would be very very tempted.
I wish the brand would realise a quad with only shades such as Collision, this would be so much fun! I love how it layers on cream or powder eyeshadow and the way it shines. Definitely would get it as a single if I could!
Very lovely! Beautiful eye look!
I. Want. This. So. Bad.
Thank you for picking it up and reviewing it!!
Simply stunning! Such beautiful shades that really complement each other. Gorgeous eye look Christine!
Skirt officially blown up! This quad is superb looking applied. An added plus is the color story really makes me think of winter!
This eye look you created is STUNNING… I feel like I have too many dupes to warrant picking this up, but I’m sorely tempted after seeing these photos… gorgeous as always Christine!
I fell absolutely in love with this quad. I love makeup but I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this brand before! I’m so happy u swatched it and applied it on. At first look the colors are quite dark and didn’t think it would be wearable on me but after seeing the swatches and how u applied them, I fell totally in love. I will have to purchase this quad. I’m of neutral medium with slight Olive complexion and I know this would be very pretty on me. Thank u for your review on this and look forward to finding and purchasing it!
Check out Linda Hallberg’s Instagram; she’s one of my favorites to follow, and what she’s done with her quad is awesome, too ๐
This is simply beautiful – the colours, the finishes, the presentation – everything!
Gorgeous eye look! I love the pop of green on the inner corner.
All a brand has to do to get me to want to buy something is put some gorgeous stamped pattern in the powders. I couldn’t say why, but I see that and all reason goes out the window. This looks so very much like the recent Nars blush pallet stamping! (Which yes, I bought. Hopeless.) Is it that similar IRL?
Then the second thing that sends me into wishing land is to put in a green eyeshadow. This has both, sigh!
Absolutely Beautiful. I especially love the Draco shade.
I love this but the colors are so close to the PMG Bronze Temptation. Even with different finishes itโs just too close to make it worth it to me.
Thanks for the review! I might be being a bit pedantic here, but just wanted to point out that 2.5g is 0.088 ounces, they missed out a zero haha.
