Laura Mercier Rose Thorn, Strike a Rose, Wild Rose Caviar Sticks Reviews & Swatches
Rose Thorn
Laura Mercier Rose Thorn Caviar Stick ($29.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a darker plum with subtle, warm brownish undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a satin sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which did not build up or layer as well as other shades. As I blended the color out, it sometimes clumped up in places and really spider-webbed through the texture of my skin. The color stayed on decently for eight and a half hours before creasing.

Strike a Rose
Laura Mercier Strike a Rose Caviar Stick ($29.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark rose copper with warm undertones and a pearly sheen with faint sparkle. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, lightly emollient texture that glided readily across my skin. The product applied evenly and remained blendable whether I used it directly from the tube or with a fingertip. It lasted nicely for nine hours before fading a bit.

Strike A Rose is very pretty for a(n almost) one ‘n done eye look! This one is pulling at my wallet…
I like the Wild Rose and Strike a Rose shades and these are better quality than the Rose Thorn shade, which would have been a lovely shade if it had been better.
I had a difficult time choosing, so picked up Strike a Rose, Bed of Roses, and Forbidden Rose and am happy with all 3 purchases! They are great for an effortless natural eye look. They are the first items that have interested me from this brand (which was once my favorite brand) in awhile. I would like to see a similar product in a shimmery lip color. ( such as Bite Beauty once had)
That’s such a shame about the Rose Thorn shade. Out of all of the colours this was the one I was most interested in, as I have nothing that shade (pencil-wise).
In general, I really like the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks (those that I have) but I do find that all 6 of these new ones look very much like one another. There are 2 that are somewhat darker but I can’t imagine that once I applied and blended, there would be enough difference among any of them to necessitate having more than 1 or 2.
