Kat Von D Susperia & Beloved Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Kat Von D Susperia Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
Kat Von D Susperia Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright lavender.” It’s a lightly brightened, medium-dark purple with warmer pink undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that went on smoothly and evenly, though the texture dried down in such a way that it seemed to emphasize the natural texture of the lips slightly more than other shades in the range. It wore comfortably for five hours, and then it was a bit drying for the next three hours (for a total of eight hours of wear). Maybelline Vibrant Violet (P, $7.99) is darker, brighter. Urban Decay Bittersweet (P, $22.00) is lighter, glossier. ColourPop Lychee (P, $6.00) is darker, brighter, warmer. ColourPop Zipper (P, $6.00) is darker. Anastasia Vintage (P, $20.00) is darker. MAC Men Love Mystery (P, $17.00) is lighter, more muted, glossier. MAC Heroine (P, $17.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier. Kat Von D L.U.V. (P, $20.00) is brighter. MAC RiRi Boy (LE, $17.00) is lighter. MAC Up the Amp (P, $17.00) is glossier, lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Kat Von D Beloved Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is described as a “soft coral.” It’s a brightened, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and an ultra, flat matte finish. The texture was lightweight, easily spread across the lips, and yielded opaque, even coverage. On me, the color wore well for seven hours before noticeably fading and was slightly drying after six hours. Kat Von D L’Ecole des Femmes (P, $21.00) is warmer. ColourPop Ouiji (P, $6.00) is darker. Kat Von D Jeffree (P, $20.00) is lighter, cooler. NARS Natalie (P, $32.00) is glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
FORMULA SUMMARY | Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is supposed to be a “long-wear, full coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish.” Of the liquid lipsticks on the market that go and have a full dry-down, Kat Von D’s formula remains my favorite, as it is the easiest to apply with the kindest learning curve and lasts awhile. Some shades are more drying than others, but typically they don’t get drying until after five to six hours of wear. They often wear anywhere from six to ten hours, depending on what you’ve had to eat or drink during the day. This formula is thin but not watery, has a longer dry down than most liquid lipsticks (but I noticed some of the newer shades dried to a mostly dry finish faster), and layers better than most (you can touch-up or add a second layer for more coverage). It takes about a minute for it to mostly set, but it will remain a little tacky in places for up to three minutes so you’ll want to avoid pressing your lips together if it doesn’t seem totally dry initially. There isn’t a noticeable scent or taste. If you don’t mind the trade-off between very long, near-pristine wear and being drying, it’s worth checking out. As a bonus, these also come with one of the most generous amounts of products within the realm of liquid lipsticks!

I should be getting Beloved in the mail today. Happy it got a higher rating!
I’m also happy it’s a dupe for NARS Natalie because that’s been on my wish list for a year but the $39CAN price point wasn’t ideal. >_<
YAY! Hope you love it. For some reason I had no idea it was going to be coral, and I was way more excited once I applied!
I like Susperia, but I already have Vibrant Violet and Heroine, so I might go for Nosferatu
That would be a good one to add more diversity to your stash!
Ugh Suspiria is one of my favorite Argento movies and Goblin songs. But that color!!! If it was a nod to Argento I am surprised it is not blood red or Iris blue.
Awww!
I love both of these colors and I love the new layout of the review pages! Having pics of the dupes in the sidebar on the right is awesome!
Thank you, Katie!!
I got Beloved when I got Double Dare. It’s such a gorgeous color. These new shades are scoring so well, I’m really glad about it!
It is a pretty one!
Beloved is beautiful! I’m such a sucker for bright coral lip colors.
It’s a nice shade 😀
Oh my. They are brighter than I thought! Beloved is still pretty though. 🙂 By the way Christine, I can’t seem to connect with my Facebook acct here so I wasn’t able to use my existing acct. There is an error message keep popping up 🙁
It should be fixed! xo
Is this review missing the full face swatch of Beloved or has it just not loaded on my phone?
Also, I know I’ve asked this before, but what shade are you in the MUFE Ultra HD foundation? Or maybe could you tell me your shade in the old MUFE HD foundation?
Fixed! I used 125, 127, 128, 140. I think 125 or 140 were probably better matches.
Wow Beloved is almost identical to Jeffree!
They’re closer than I expected!
Oooooh Beloved <3
Pretty shade!
Both of these are truly gorgeous shades! But I do already have non-liquid-matte dupes for both shades, so I feel fairly covered. Since I know that these are probably not the easiest lippys for you to test out comfort wise; thank you, because even though I know I won’t buy any liquid mattes, I still greatly appreciate what you are doing for us!
You can always blot on powder to get the more matte look, too!
OMG, Christine, the new site update is awesome!! Good job, team Temptalia! I’m probably way late to the party on that, sorry.
Anyway, I’m actually really happy that Beloved is a Natalie dupe–I own both, but I’ve discovered that I love having one bullet lipstick and a liquid lipstick of all my favorite colors. Liquid for summer (non-melty in this Texas heat), and bullet for the few short days of cool weather. That’s… probably weird.
By the way, Beloved and Nosferatu have been my favorites on you. My jaw dropped when I saw how Nosferatu looked on you. Stunning.
Thanks so much, Risa!!
Wow! You and me both! I moved to Texas last year and like to have both kinds of lipsticks too! =)
I love these both on you! Thankfully, I have Nars Natalie and a few of the dupes for Susperia. I think I need to add Mac’s Up the Amp to my collection. I have seen it mentioned on the blog here so much!
Thank you, Nicole! 😀
Susperia is really pretty. I’m still not 100% sure whether I will get on with the formula, but I suppose the only way to find out is to try it. 🙂
There ya go 😉
I love both colors but the finish is just oo chalky for me.
Totally understand!
