Jouer Citrine/Rose Quartz/Topaz Powder Highlighter Trio Review, Photos, Swatches
Citrine/Rose Quartz/Topaz
Jouer Citrine/Rose Quartz/Topaz Powder Highlighter Trio ($39.00 for 0.21 oz.) contains three, miniature-sized powder highlighters. I liked how they each came in their own case, and the compact was large enough for highlighting and blush brushes. Frankly, I think these sizes are more practical for anyone who has more than a handful of highlighters since it takes so long to get through any one highlighter! I do wish the kit itself was priced a bit lower–like $30 or $32–so that the price and value were just more in line with each other.
Value
A full-sized highlighter retails for $24.00 and contains 0.16 oz. or costs $150.00 oz. The set contains $31.50 worth of product.

Citrine
Citrine is a light-medium peach with warm, orange undertones and a soft, luminous sheen. It wasn’t as metallic nor as shiny as most of Jouer’s powder highlghters have been in my experience. it had good pigmentation with a soft, blendable texture that wasn’t as finely-milled or as cream-like compared to other shades, but it never emphasized my skin’s texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview
$24.00/0.16 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "long-wearing, highly pigmented" and have a "radiant finish." They are semi-opaque to opaque typically with a denser, creamier consistency that doesn't have any powderiness or dustiness to it. The powders apply well to bare skin, blended out easily, and tend to have a stronger, metallic sheen--definitely a more intense highlighter. They lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

Rose Quartz
Rose Quartz is a light pink with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. I found the mini version to pull a bit warmer on me overall, though it was quite similar on so it might just be how the light reflected off the powder. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too firmly or too softly pressed in the pan. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

PPermanent. $24.00.
Topaz
Topaz is a medium, golden copper with warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had excellent color coverage in a single layer with a smooth, velvety texture that was firmer in the pan but not difficult to pickup with a brush or blend out on the skin. The texture felt a bit drier compared to my full-sized version, and the finish was less metallic in the miniature-sized version as well. The highlighter stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Super pretty but since I’ve bought both the PUR Quick Pro and the Cover FX Perfect Highlighting palettes already this month, I think I’m set for highlighters for ooooooh, EVER. 😉
They do look like they have a lovely texture though!
I wish I was able to swatch these in stores, but they look beautiful!
This sort of pricing (charging more than the actual per ounce/gram price of the regular products) is enough to really turn me off a brand for good. It’s why I’ve stopped buying Hourglass, a brand I used to drop a lot of money on – when they really gouged purchasers for their holiday edition palette a few years back and then did it again….and again. They lost me as a customer.
I have been debating on getting either citrine or rose quartz for a looong time. I’ve been waiting to see your review of citrine! I had been planning on rose quartz but citrine is much less gold Than other swatches I’ve seen so now I’m debating. I thought it would look like Becca Moonstone which was too yellow for me. But it’s peachy!!! Lol
