Huda Beauty Medium Glow Obsessions Mini Face Palette Review & Swatches
Medium
Huda Beauty Medium Mini Glow Obsessions Face Palette ($29.00 for 0.22 oz.) includes two gold highlighters and two copper highlighters (or blushes). The texture of the formula was where the palette fell short; it was firmer, denser, and thicker overall, which made it harder to pick up product evenly with a brush.
In order to do so, I typically had to use my brush to push upward or jab a little to get product to loosen off of the surface in order to pick up with an already denser, more flat-topped brush. Once I loosened product, it was fairly blendable and not difficult to apply/blend out on my skin, thankfully.

Medium #1
Medium #1 is a light-medium, yellowy gold with a shiny, metallic finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation with a firmer, stiffer texture that made it difficult to pick up product evenly with a brush. I had to push and jab at the surface to dislodge product, which then applied without much effort in terms of blending out on my face. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Medium #2
Medium #2 is a medium copper with moderate, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had mostly opaque, buildable color coverage, assuming one could get it out of the pan. The texture was firmer, denser, and thicker, which just made it a challenge to get product out of the pan and onto a brush.
I used an eyeshadow brush to push on the surface and then picked up product with a small, buffing brush, which helped the product go on evenly and blend out without trouble. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Medium #3
Medium #3 is a bright, peachy gold with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable color payoff paired with a moderately dense, firmer texture that was more challenging to work with as it took more effort to get product onto a brush to begin with.
Once the product was on my brush, it applied decently to bare skin and blended out well, though it felt like not as much product transferred onto my skin. It lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Medium #4
Medium #4 is a medium copper with warmer, more orange undertones and a bright, metallic finish. The texture was firmer, denser, and stiffer, which made it difficult to pick up product without really pushing and actively trying to dislodge powder from the surface. It had opaque color coverage once I loosened the surface, which applied fairly evenly and didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

A pity that the score is so and so because these colours and the finish look very lovely on your skin. I guess that the issueS you faced are limited to the first use? And then, after loosening a bit the surface, things go better? It is a very weird behaviour though.
No, it’s not just the first layer, it’s that I had to push and move product around each time, which left looser powder on the surface, and that applied/blended out okay!
Yikes. Thank goodness I have at least one dupe per shade! This sounds like a nightmare to use.
I wasn’t buying these quads from Colourpop at $9 and I’m certainly not buying them for $29.
I like these shades enough for them to be an eyeshadow palette – I think they are probably a bit too shimmery, but the formula is very average.
Oh, I thought these were just smaller versions of their previous highlighter palettes. Looks like they’re a different product entirely.
