Huda Beauty Caramel Brown Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes Review & Swatches
Caramel Brown
Huda Beauty Caramel Brown Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette ($29.00 for 0.45 oz.) is a new, warm-toned neutral palette that included four matte eyeshadows and five shimmer eyeshadows (one was more of a satin in its finish). The mattes performed fairly well with just a little dryness, while the shimmers were less consistent with one being very hard to use and a couple being really lovely.

Caramel Brown #1
Caramel Brown #1 is a muted, medium orange with moderate, warm undertones and flecks of pink and gold pearl throughout. The texture was very firm and stiff, which made it difficult to pick up product–even with a fingertip–and yielded more medium coverage that did not apply evenly and was difficult to blend out. It lasted for seven hours before fading visibly on me.

Caramel Brown #2
Caramel Brown #2 is an ultra-deep, molten copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented where a little went a long way. The texture was emollient, lightly creamy, and dense without being thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it picked up well with a dry brush and blended out without difficulty. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Caramel Brown #5
Caramel Brown #5 is a medium-dark copper with warm, reddish undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was slightly thicker and chunkier with the way the larger flecks of sparkle seemed to dominate, which made it harder to diffuse and blend out the edges evenly. It was the kind of shade that looked better in person, with movement, rather than in a still photo, as the edges looked less unblended in person. It had mostly opaque color coverage but needed to be applied with a dampened brush for full coverage. There were signs of wear present after eight hours.

Caramel Brown #7
Caramel Brown #7 is a medium-dark copper with strong, warm orange undertones and flecks of larger copper sparkle throughout a metallic finish. The consistency was slightly thicker and denser, which made it easier to use with a dampened brush–a fingertip compacted it further and a dry brush didn’t pick up product or place it as evenly. It had opaque color coverage that lasted decently for eight hours.

This has several shades that are more unique and downright stunning. Not sure if that’s enough for me to run out and get, especially when the rest of the shades are ones I have dupes for. But, I’ll be thinking about it.
Number 6 is the only one I like in this palette. I don’t have any close dupes that I can recollect, I have to check the Linda Hallberg shades I have, I do have the possible dupe, Embark from MAC.
I still wait for a Huda ES palette to grab my interest, there have been some I sort of could perhaps have thought of buying, but then there were some shades that didn’t preform well enough. These last ones have all been to warm for me, and I feel I have so many warm and warmish neutrals that I don’t need one more unless it’s super special, whatever that can mean.
It’s another pretty palette but I do think that some of the shimmer shades have let it down – too many chunky sparkles in one, poorly formulated in another and shades that are probably easily duped.
