Sephora Sale April 2021: On My Radar + Recently Released

starts tomorrow, April 9th, for Rouges! (VIBs can shop beginning April 13th, Insiders on April 15th.) You’ll be able to use the code OMGSPRING as many times as you’d like during the dates for your tier! The discount ranges from 10% (Insiders) to 15% (VIBs) to 20% (Rouges) and applies to just about everything (see fine print below for exclusions/restrictions).

Shocking no one at all, I’m Rouge, so I’ll be picking up some items tomorrow! Here are products on my radar (including some I purchased when they first released rather than waiting for the sale) along with a recap of some recently-released products (and links to their reviews). What’s on your list? (If you’re shopping the sale!)

On My Radar

  • t (received samples of)
  • (likely will wait for now)
  • (already purchased)
  • (received a sample of)
  • (they added some new shades… that tantalized me by promo but I’m a little scarred from my original experience with the range)
  • (likely will wait for a better deal at Ulta)
  • (already purchased)
  • (already purchased the new shades)

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’m Rouge too, just can’t decide on what to buy! I need to do a quick evaluation of everything. Maybe some nail polish or hair care or fragrances…

I just bought so many eyeliners from Marc Jacobs as there was a sale and overdid it with Tom Ford lipsticks and lip liners which were on sale too. Now I just will buy some skincare from Sephora at the sale. Was doing pretty good in stopping myself from buying makeup this year but I love Marc Jacobs colorful liners and that got me started again. Also Tom Ford lipsticks were 50 off and it was irresistible. Hope I stop now. Sometimes it’s hard to control myself.

I’ve got very little on my list:
Becca Backlight Priming Filter – because I know it soon won’t be available as the company is shutting down
Josie Maran Whipped Face Butter – I had a sample in the winter and it was fabulous for winter dried and mask-rubbed face
ABH Chiffon Eyeshadow – I’ve wanted it for a while now

And that’s all she wrote, folks. It’s hard for me to want to buy stuff I can’t see and try and as we’re in yet another lockdown (all retail stores except pharmacies, stores selling food, etc. are closed for at least 3 weeks). I just found out that my favourite shoe store, an independent local store in my neighbourhood – will be closing down entirely as all of these shut downs and “curbside only” limitations have killed her business (how do you buy shoes if you can’t try them on for comfort and fit? that’s been my problem).

I picked up the Mary Jane palette (so excited, buuut all of the promo photos from everyone are wildly different. I’m getting pissed at how inaccurate promo photos are now. wtf is the point??) as Sephora’s 20% off sale is better than Melt’s own site as far as palettes go. Melt’s sales on everything else are usually much better.
I’ll probably pick up some skincare if what I need comes back in stock. And maybe a new “foundation” (tinted moisturizers with spf are my game). I hate how expensive makeup is becoming.

Fun fact – you cannot see how much you need to spend to up-tier on the app or site anymore.

I called the store and the associate who helped me was able to see it when they logged in or used my identifying information but it’s not visible to the customer. The associate was unaware of any changes and was surprised that I could not find ithe nformation myself.

I then called the 800 number to ask how to find the information myself and the person who helped me was also surprised that I could not see it on my end *but* when I asked if this was new or why I couldn’t, they said “well it’s always been that way.” Huh?

😑 Not true – I remember being able to go on the app or site and check my “need to spend this amount to maintain xxx status”. I distinctly remember being able to see the amount needed to spend in the checkout process for one of my recent orders, but that was all. I think that information should be readily available. Customers shouldn’t have to put something in cart and go all the way up to payment just to fund the “spend this much to maintain” information.

I bought Paula Choice BHA liquid and a couple of mini lip sets to try out the brands. The list above imo and no offense is a list of what not to buy. Only maybe the Kosas powder or the Bare Minerals blonzer I’d consider. The rest is a huge no for me!
