Formula Overview
$22.00/0.04 oz. - $550.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high-impact" color with "long-wear" that is "waterproof" and "glides like a liquid." The majority of the eyeliners had semi-opaque to opaque coverage, which was quite good for a pencil eyeliner. The matte shades tended to have the highest and most even coverage compared to the shimmers, which were less consistent.
The texture was lightweight, smooth, and creamy without being too emollient, though they are good for smudging and take longer than average (but not THAT long!) to dry down.
I did not find the wear to be exceptional; they were solid and wore around eight hours on the lower lash line before thinning noticeably, while they had decent (six-hour) wear on my water line. Both lengths of wear are average for pencil eyeliner for me with the longer-wearing formulas getting closer to 10 to 12 hour wear.

Olive Shimmer
Haus Labs Olive Shimmer Optic Intensity Eyeliner Pencil ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a blackened olive green with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. This was one of the more underwhelming shades as it was sheerer and harder to build up, likely due to the texture being noticeably drier.
- Medium, buildable coverage
- Slightly drier, did not apply as evenly, no tugging
- Long-wearing (eight hours on lower lash line, six hours on waterline was typical)

Because I have UD Stash 24/7 pencil, I know that I don’t have any need for Olive Shimmer, but believe it or not, something less opaque could be super useful for me on less intense makeup days. Chartreuse Matte looks like such a fun, cheery shade!
The Olive shimmer looked beautiful – until I saw its rating and read the comments. How disappointing!
I think that the use of the Chartreuse pencil in the promo photo was interesting, but I do not think I could make it work for me. I am finding new appreciation of a nude eyeliner shade now that I have discovered the Victoria Beckham Beauty line, and also now love her other kohl pencils!
I am interested to see how people use these lighter colors, since they would not really be for lining in the typical way, right? Except for the olive, but you found that one not as good.
Did I miss some press release that would explain the packaging on those pencils? They look really ugly and gross like a bunch of random plastic pieces were melted together. Aside from that, the only color I’d consider picking up didn’t do so great.
Super tempted by the chartreuse!
I still want the olive shade. It might look good with a soft grunge green eye look.
