Guerlain Mystic Peacock (360) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Mystic Peacock (360)
Guerlain Mystic Peacock (360) Ombres G Quad Eyeshadow Palette ($85.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a newly-released color story featuring a new eyeshadow formula. Three of the four shades were more pigmented, while all four were fairly blendable, easy to apply, and longer-wearing. One shade was noticeably sheerer applied dry, though.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have "intense pigments for long-lasting color" across four finishes: "intense satin," "deep matte," luminous metallic," and "radiant pearl." The majority of the shades were quite pigmented applied dry, but it seemed, by texture and look of the pan, to be a wet/dry formula to me, so I tried them damp as well. I didn't feel like using them dampened was necessary except for a few of the "radiant pearl" finish shades, which had more shimmer/sparkle.
The "deep matte" finish tended to have a firmer and more cream-like feel, so using a denser brush to pick up to apply and diffuse color was best, while the other finishes were more moderately-dense--firm but not stiff--and blended out well as they "melted" on my skin. The eyeshadows lasted around eight hours on me before showing signs of fading with a few getting closer to nine hours of wear.

As much as I love and want this quad, I have to talk myself out of it because I can likely dupe each shade quite successfully. This is one where I know I would need to watch tutorials of before even considering purchasing, too. And that’s because I can see only very graphic editorial looks using it.
Mystic Peacock #1 is stunning, but I doubt I could pull it off with my fair complexion. I worry I’d look ridiculous.
I’d love to find a makeup trick that helps fair-skinned people pull off deeper shades like this. I’ll have to do some research because I love that color.
Thanks for your review.
I really like the dark blue and the teal, I could find a lot of use for the brown, but I don’t care for the orange, it fits the theme and would probably make for some very gorgeous looks. I rarely use orange or copper tones and have by far too many as it is.
The quad is also a bit expensive, as is normal for the brand, had I loved all the shades and the rating had been an A+, I might have considered it, but now I’m just going to try and dupe it from my stash.
Ooh this color combo is intriguing! I don’t have any of their eye products yet
Hmm – there is much to like about this quad – the vivid navy blue (which the brand got completely right) and the copper shade. However the formula for the lighter blue shade was not quite perfect here – I would have preferred the shade to look on the skin the way it did in the pan – it turned out to be too murky. And the inclusion of that muddy brown shade makes me wonder what the brand was thinking…
