Holographic

Guerlain Holographic Meteorites Highlighter Duo ($62.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a new, limited edition highlighter duo featuring a warm pink and cool lavender. The formula seems more like the baked, gel-powder hybrid products that have been popular to launch, so they’ll have a denser, firmer consistency (no powderiness) and need a denser brush or moderate hand to pick up product–but it’s very, very blendable formula that applies and works well on cheeks. It was in stock a few days ago, but it appears to be gone at most online retailers. (International retailer John Lewis was the only one I found.)

Holographic (Left)

Holographic (Left) is a soft, sparkling pink with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. The sparkling bit seemed marginally more noticeable in person than in photos, but it didn’t read that glittery in person–more of a soft, lit-from-within kind of glow. It had medium coverage that was buildable to semi-opaque pigmentation. The texture was dense, firm without being stiff, and blended out well on my skin without emphasizing my natural texture. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Holographic (Right)

Holographic (Right) is a lighter lavender with cool undertones and a lightly, metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer with a smooth, dense consistency that was firmer to the touch but not stiff or difficult to blend out on my skin. I used a moderately dense brush with it (nothing airy like a fan brush!), which picked up product well and deposited it evenly. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before it started to show signs of wear.

This post points up why Temptalia is so invaluable to me and all readers. I had that surge of enjoyment, rapidly read on. (Squeee!) Smitten by the lavender side. But the CP Rocket Science, which is a fave, scored better than the Guerlain. Still working on the late 80s original Meteorites, no worse for wear, just less scented. Big save. I do think this would be fabulous for those who need it.

WOW, this is gorgeous and right up my alley. How many highlighters does one woman need, that is the question? I am happy that it is LE and appears sold out since that will keep me from caving. What can I say, I like pretty embossing and nice packaging!!

I don’t know what is up with my nose but I’m like a scent dog with perfume in makeup. I did the sniff test before I tried it and couldn’t smell anything. After I applied it, I got the headache I normally get with Guerlain products! Such a shame 🙁

The two shades worn together pics are so stunning and magical looking! However, I’m not sure that this would be anything but a really cool looking highlighter on me. I doubt that I would get the soft ethereal blush effect that it’s giving you. I could use a darker pink I have and dip my brush into a lavender highlighter and get close, I believe!

I am vacationing in Paris right now and grabbed this along with a new perfume at the Guerlain boutique and I’m in love with this! Very different from most of the ones I own. Super glad they still have them in stock!

This is the prettiest highlighter I own (and I own many…). I really feel that this brings beautiful contrast to my warm-toned skin color. I also love that it has the ”wet look” that is hard to create.
So glad Guerlain brought something new to the market since they are quite conservative with their limited editions. Their old 4-pan eye shadow pallets are my all time favourites. Such a shame they were discontinued 🙁
