Guerlain Flaming Red & Glamorous Cherry Rouge G Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Flaming Red (823)
Guerlain Flaming Red (823) Rouge G de Guerlain Lip Color ($58.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a smattering of gold micro-glitter. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer. The texture was lightweight, emollient and slightly creamy without feeling too wet or too slippery on the lips with just a bit of texture from the micro-glitter in the bullet itself. The lipstick sat well on the lips and smoothed out a lot of my lip lines. It wore well for five and a half hours and was nicely hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$58.00/0.12 oz. - $483.33 Per Ounce
The Rouge G formula is supposed to be hydrating with a luminous finish. Long-time readers will know it has been a favorite of mine forever! The part that I find is more unique to Rouge Gs is the finish; there’s a fine pearl that gives it a glossier, shinier sheen that isn’t too slippery. The formula is typically comfortable to wear, nicely hydrating, and lasts four to six hours. It has a floral scent but no discernible taste.

Flaming Red (823)
DCDiscontinued. $58.00.
Glamorous Cherry (822)
Guerlain Glamorous Cherry (822) Rouge G de Guerlain Lip Color ($58.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a vibrant, medium pinky red with cool, blue undertones and barely-there gold sparkle. The pigmentation was almost full coverage in a single stroke, but there was a smidgen of translucency throughout the shade. The color went on evenly, though, and the finish seemed to have a higher shine than most Rouge Gs. It had a creamy texture that was thicker compared to Flaming Red but not actually heavy or slippery on the lips. It wore well for five hours and left a slight stain behind.

Ooooh, Glamorous Cherry looks superb!
But these retail for $90 here so I will unfortunately have to pass… (mind you, I paid almost that for Gems back in the day…)
I’m not surprised that anyone would pass at $90+ on a lipstick!
The G’s are now $61 CAD! Tom Ford $70 Pat McGrath $52.. makes me feel my luxtreme splurge was the budget side of luxury ?
Oh my goodness, the CAD DOES make Pat McGrath seem like a budget lipstick!!
Are these scented? Thanks!
Yes, they’re floral-scented!
Thank you. They’ll have to be a pass for me, unfortunately.
Happy sigh!!! I love love love how these look on the lips!!!!
I love a red-orange shimmer — one of my favorite lipstick colors of all time! I notice that none of the dupes listed have as much shimmer as the Guerlain Flaming Red.
I love the little gold flecks in Flaming Red! Glamorous Cherry is also very beautiful. I just love the packaging on these.
Flaming Red is just divine!
I absolutely do not need either of these lipsticks, given all the reds I own. I desperately want them both.
These are so gorgeous, but I hate the packaging which is why I never buy Rouge G’s. Waaaay too bulky!
These are beautiful! If I didn’t already have a bunch of reds I really love and need to use up, I might have considered getting Flaming Red. Maybe next year…
Red Necessity is one of my very favourite lipsticks but the price of Glamorous Cherry ($61 here) is just too steep for me. I think I’ll check out the Estee Lauder “dupe” to see how close it is to Red Necessity.
Ooh Glamorous Cherry is going on my list for the next Sephora sale! Thank you!
Glamorous Cherry is going on my wishlist, love it.
Wow.
[no more reds … no more reds … no more reds …]
Although … I have “own one Guerlain lipstick” on my bucket list …
[sigh]
Flaming Red is such a perfect holiday color!I love it.Glamorous Cherry is lovely also but the other shades undertone is my favorite when it comes to reds!
Beautiful shades, beautiful packaging, but over-the-top price!
Oh, love them both!
