Editor's Review

The Rouge G formula is supposed to be hydrating with a luminous finish. Long-time readers will know it has been a favorite of mine forever! The part that I find is more unique to Rouge Gs is the finish; there’s a fine pearl that gives it a glossier, shinier sheen that isn’t too slippery. The formula is typically comfortable to wear, nicely hydrating, and lasts four to six hours. It has a floral scent but no discernible taste.

Claims / Ingredients

A jewel lipstick compact with a white-gold shimmer designed by Lorenz Bäumer, the young and talented jeweler in Place Vendôme. A horizontal design with feminine curves that houses a secret: a mirror automatically appears when the compact is opened. The lipstick has a purely elegant, contemporary design and closes magnetically. This exceptional object boasts a comprehensive, premium formula containing a star ingredient: ruby powder, which acts as an optical whitener to bring out the color and shine of the shades. The blend of natural active ingredients (Tiger Grass, wild mango butter, Gugul resin used in Ayurvedic medicine) completes the formula to plump up, smooth and bring moisture and softness to your lips.

After loving the Kiss Kiss Tender Matte lipsticks, particularly 360 Very Pink & 219 Tender Rose, as well as the new Kiss Kiss Bee Glow 319 Peach Kiss, I decided to investigate the Rouge G line of which Temptalia's so fond. This season being the 2022-2023 "Red Vanda" collection & offering the limited edition "Floral Denim" case, I went with the delightful Floral Denim case & the Rouge G satin 918 Red Ballerina. This is a delightful deep berry-red lipstick, neutral-cool, that somehow doesn't feel purely autumnal or wintery. It's an all-season lipstick. Easy to apply, it glides over lip lines. It lasts 4-6 hours - assuming you don't eat or drink anything too oily or fatty - and leaves your lips lightly moisturized with a slight stain that's very pretty. With the Guerlain lip primer, I managed to get 6-8 from it, drinking only plain water & plain green tea during that time. It looks great with the spring-summer 2023 trend of long denim skirts, a white shirt & Birkenstocks. If you keep your face fresh - I used Guerlain's great new Terracotta foundation in 0.5N dusted with Meteorites & a brown mascara with a light cream blush for a no-makeup look - then Red Ballerina just sings. Highly recommend

I wanted to love this so much as the color is gorgeous, but both times I attempted to wear Gina, the color bled very badly. I hoped for better wear for such a high price. :(

This is a unique color amongst lipsticks - I haven't been able to find anything else exactly like this, especially with the finish let alone the great formula. Lasts forever, beautiful to wear, and a dream lipstick. I love it!

This is one of my most loved Rouge Gs alongside Girly. It's a gorgeous warm pink that I feel is universally flattering. The lipstick formula is wonderful. It applies full colour in one stroke and glides over any imperfections such as dry, flaky areas with ease. Your lips will instantly look smoother and have a beautiful sheen. It has a very faint scent but this is barely noticeable while applying and is nonexistent when it's on. I could go on singing its praises but I won't. All I'll suggest is that you go try it at a counter for yourself if you haven't already and I dare you not to love it!

I joined Temptalia just so I could review this lipstick. It's well worth the exorbitant price tag---smooth, hydrating, and pigmented enough to brighten up my naturally dark raspberry lips with true-to-tube color that lasts and lasts and lasts. Although many lipsticks tend to feather or bleed on me, this stays exactly where I put it, without a liner. It fades evenly and, afterwards, my lips feel smoother and more moisturized than before. I'm a convert, and I'll be buying more ridiculously-priced Rouge G lipsticks in the future.
