Gucci Eadie Scarlet, Louisa Red, Diana Amber Sheer Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Eadie Scarlet (502)
Gucci Beauty Eadie Scarlet (502) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium, pinky-red with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-sheer to medium coverage that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging.
The texture was lightweight, thin without feeling clingy, and comfortable to wear, and it didn’t seem to emphasize my lip lines–in fact, it smoothed out some of those finer lip lines. It wore well for four hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$42.00/0.12 oz. - $350.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "moisture-rich" with a "luminous shine" that "delivers sheer color." The brand went further and described the coverage as "semitransparent color with luminous shine." The shades had semi-sheer to medium coverage, often slightly buildable, so it was enough pigment to look like something when applied but definitely let the natural lip color come through (so your mileage may vary if you have more pigmented lips than I do).
The texture was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and had a light creaminess to it; the formula didn't feel as luminous as it looked, which was a good thing as it prevented the product from sliding around too readily. The most impressive part was that most shades applied evenly and didn't settle into my lip lines initially nor over time. The wear time was as expected, but it was shorter than more pigmented and less shiny formulas; most shades lasted between three and four hours. The formula felt lightly hydrating but not what I'd call "moisture-rich."
They have a moderate, sweet floral scent (the brand says "floral fragrance with violet notes and a soft, fruity scent"), and I felt like I occasionally could taste the fragrance, though it was a lot less noticeable and present compared to Gucci's original lipstick range (many years ago). I could definitely smell the scent with the product applied, so it was stronger than some formulas where the scent is only noticeable in the packaging/tube.

Louisa Red (506)
Gucci Beauty Louisa Red (506) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddened plum with subtle, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-sheer color coverage that could be built up to true medium coverage with a second layer.
The consistency was lightweight, thin without feeling clingy, and had enough creaminess to glide on readily but it looked more luminous than it felt. I was impressed by how even the color applied and how the product didn’t sink into my lip lines. This shade lasted well for four hours and felt lightly moisturizing over time.

Diana Amber (508)
Gucci Beauty Diana Amber (508) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had sheer to semi-sheer coverage, which yielded noticeable color and altered my natural lip color, but it definitely looked warmer-toned against my natural lip color despite looking cooler-toned when swatched.
The consistency felt lightweight, thin, and had a slightly balm-like feel as it glided across my lips comfortably. It stayed on well for four hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

I love Louisa Red! Love it to the point of wanting it. On the other hand, I’m just not into buying makeup (or clothing or bags or shoes) because I have nowhere to wear it while I’m stuck at home during the pandemic.
But it would be a nice treat for when it is all over!
Yes, it definitely would a nice treat, but I’ll wait. It would be too frustrating to see it just sitting here gathering dust for weeks or months. Besides, I might be over this urge by then and will save $42, which is more than I usually allow myself to spend on one lipstick.
Louisa Red is my favorite one, too.
Lovely variations of the pink theme.
Louisa Red is amazing in that shades such as this usually don’t apply as evenly and smoothly in these types of formulas. I really like it a lot!
I so love these Gucci sheers. I like most, if not all of the colors. My only issue is the $42.00 price point. If they were less expensive, I would buy some in a heartbeat despite my plethora of lippies stashed in my makeup room.
OOO, Louisa Red is sooo “edible” looking!!! Yummy! And the color is soooo different for me for a red. I don’t need one, but if I consider getting one, it will be this!
