Green Eyeliners: Your Guide
I’ve split greens into three sections: medium and aqua greens, then dark greens and olive greens.
- MAC Emerald Sea is a brightened, light-medium green with yellow undertones. (LE)
- MAC Landscape Green is a medium, grassy green with yellow undertones and a matte finish. (FYI, not safe for water line usage.)
- Urban Decay Graffiti is a grassy green with subtle yellow undertones and a subtle sheen.
- CoverGirl Green Glow is a chartreuse green with a warm, gold sheen.
- Make Up For Ever #17L is a pale chartreuse green with a golden sheen.
- MAC Colour Matters is a true chartreuse with strong yellow undertones and a matte finish. (LE)
- NARS Parrot Cay is a pale, aqua green with a matte finish. It is very much like Korres #12.
- Korres #12 is a pale aqua green with a matte finish. It’s a dupe for NARS Parrot Cay! (DC)
- Chanel Jade is a dark aqua blue/green with a frosted sheen.
TEMPTALIA PICKS: #2 (pigmentation)
Behind-the-Series: It was my intention to provide heavy, opaque swatches to provide an accurate color comparison. Some eyeliners required one pass, some required five, and a few even more. When possible, the shade name (above) is linked to the original review so you can read more about the quality, wear, etc. of a particular eyeliner. If we’ve never done a review, there will be no link. Shades that were limited edition will be marked with “(LE)” and shades that were discontinued will be marked with “(DC)” after the color description. You can also find all comparisons on The Dupe List.

I have UD Stash (though that might be a khaki) and Mildew as green liners. I love a dash of green on the lower lash line. Even if the rest of the eye makeup is neutral it makes things so much more fun!
Covergirl Green Glow is a favorite to use on my waterline with a neutral eye, just for that little bit of my signature color.
Speaking of liners that work well on the waterline, btw, the NYX Slide-On pencils are fantastic. They’re the easiest to apply to the waterline out of all the pencils I own, they stay put pretty well, and the Papaya Green shade is great when I want something a little louder than the Green Glow. I’m wearing the gold shade today.
This is sooooo fun. Mostly have UD 24/7 pencils and I love UD Mildew.
With hazel eyes, green is an important color for me because it can really make my eyes look green instead of light brown.
Yellow-greens, like the MAC Emerald Sea and Cover Girl Green Glow that you should are on my shopping list now!. However, the blue-greens, like NARS Parrot Key, Chanel Jade, even UD Graffiti just make me look like a brown-eyed girl wearing green eyeliner.
LOVE LOVE LOVE MAC LANDSCAPE GREEN AND COVERGIRL GREEN GLOW. NOT SURE WHAT NARS AND KORRES WERE THINKING WHEN THEY CREATED THEIRS-JUST PLAIN OLE WACK!!
I’ve been keeping my eye out for Green Glow but I’ve never found it! I’m thinking it’s unavailable in Australia.
I found it the other day! Bought it too!
I need to find cruelty-free dupes for Green Glow and and Emerald Sea. Love those colors 🙂
