Glossier Beam Cloud Paint Review, Photos, Swatches
Beam
Glossier Beam Cloud Paint ($18.00 for 0.33 oz.) is a soft, light-medium coral with warm, orange tones and a natural finish. It had sheer, buildable color coverage (semi-opaque with three layers) that sat particularly well on my skin, as it seemed to have a natural finish despite not being dewy or wet in feel. The consistency was thin, like a watery gel, and easy to spread across my cheeks for a natural stain-like appearance. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$18.00/0.33 oz. - $54.55 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "pillowy, gel-cream" texture that is "seamless, sheer, and buildable" that is designed to be applied with fingertips to the cheeks for a "healthy, flushed-from-within-glow." Their strength is in their airy, gel-like texture that's ultra-lightweight but more substantial than a runnier, watery cheek color, so I felt like it was a bit easier to spread the color onto my cheek area and get an even application of color early on. They were easy to work with on bare skin, and the texture worked well without any makeup as it sat naturally on the skin and let my natural skin texture and finish come through.
They worked fairly well over foundation but creamier foundations that don't set as well did not seem to play as well with it as some (I had great results layering the formula over Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea but less stellar results over ColourPop's No Filter Foundation). I liked application with fingertips or a stippling brush, but I tend to prefer fingertip application as it seems to allow me to cover a greater area with less possibility of disturbing my base products, though for blending more dried down color, a brush is better.
The coverage was as described--sheer and buildable--but they're going to be best suited for someone who prefers the look of a cheek stain over more opaque or pigmented color. They absolutely had a natural finish; they did not feel tacky after application, but they never looked flat or matte to me. They're buildable with the respect of getting slightly more coverage and a deeper, less watercolor-esque application with two to three layers. I preferred to build up in layers for best improvement in coverage as applying more seemed to end up with product across a larger area than more intense coverage. The blushes lasted between seven and nine hours on me.
I didn't love the packaging, because I felt like too often a small squeeze pushed out more product than necessary and often seemed to squeeze a little more out even after I had released pressure.

This is like my favourite kind of colour of blush to wear, and I prefer cream formulas – might have to be my first Glossier purchase!
What are some of your favorite cream formulas?
Chanel Le Blush Creme de Chanel if I’m working with more matte/powder products or MUFE HD Blush with more dewy/liquid or something to carry on the go as I have 3 in a convenient little palette prefer using a brush rather than fingertips for the Chanel ones. Both I tried out initially thanks to your reviews!
I know the Chanel one has been discontinued for a while now, but the MUFE seems to be out (at least of UK stores) too.
That’s a good formula – no idea why they discontinued it!
Can you share how you apply this product?
Hi An,
Please read “Formula Overview.”
While I may love the way it looks on your complexion, I feel like this particular shade in this formula would seriously struggle to show up on me at all. It is a pretty shade, though!
I love this one! I actually have all four of the original shades and love to mix and match them. Once my post-move no-buy is done I definitely want to get Storm and Dawn as well.
I love how this looks on you, I’ve got to try it.
Not a fan of Glossier. The quality is not high IMO. I bought a couple of things and was very disappointed. Seemed like there are some drugstore brands that are better quality.
What products did you try and not like? So far, my experience with the brand has been quite good!
