Givenchy Rose Precieux (311) Le Rouge Intense Color Sensuously Matte Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “rosy red.” It’s a medium-dark, warm-toned, rosy red with a satin finish. MAC Candy Apple is lighter. Urban Decay Manic is richer, redder. Revlon Wild Watermelon is lighter, redder. Chanel Fiction is pinker. See comparison swatches.

Long-time readers will know that I have been recently seduced by Givenchy’s Le Rouge range, so when the brand released two additional, limited edition shades as part of their holiday collection–there was no way I was resisting. The formula is really a treat to apply, because it feels silky, smooth, and almost buttery–but not too emollient; there really isn’t a lot of slip, just a creaminess, to the consistency. The color glides on with nearly full opacity in a single stroke, so it is quite pigmented. Rose Precieux wore well for six hours, and it left a moderate stain behind. It was lightly hydrating (but not as hydrating as the original Le Rouge formula) while worn. The formula has a light floral scent as well.

This is the first shade I’ve seen from the new line that really seems to call to me. Looks like I might finally be trying this formula!!

I’m not a fan personally of the packaging of the Le Rouge line, this or the original, myself, but only because I think it would scratch easily!

It looks like a very pretty color, but, since this is not one of “my” brands, and I’m already just about buried in lipsticks, I’ll be skipping this one.
I still haven’t firmly convinced myself that I don’t need Illamasqua “Shard,” though.

It’s really not all that much of an exaggeration – by most recent count, which was quite some time ago, my lipsticks numbered 100+. Of course, some of them are back-ups, but still …
I’m not sure I could find space for any more!
I’ve got MAC, Bobbi Brown, Illamasqua, Stila, Wet ‘n’ Wild, Inglot, and a NARS or two.
Oh, yeah, and Mehron. You get the picture! 🙂

Ohhhhh god …
Seriously amazing …. m in two minds …
buy it now or wait for this to launch here ..
its stunning on u n even if I try hard whole day or week .. I would fail to find a flaw

trust me … the 3 g’s in my life are only n onlyyyyyyyy because of u …
dont know how to thank u christine …

the 3 g’s m referring to are –

giorgio armani
givenchy
guerlain

Wow Christine! That color looks stunning on you! is the packaging in leather like the normal version?
It looks a bit like fabric in the photos.

It is leather (as far as I know/can tell), but it is metallic in places (I assume painted) – it feels about the same, though I would say they always feel very, very thin on both regular and this.

Hey Christine! I love this color on you! Also, your skin looks amazing in all your photos, and this one is no exception. What foundation are you wearing here? Will you be trying the new Guerlain foundation?

I don’t remember the foundation – sorry! It’s probably Guerlain Parure de Lumiere but I’m not sure.

Sorry, I do not have Guerlain’s new foundation!

Holy crap this is so pretty. I mean I think I haven’t purchased a high-end lipstick since my last Rouge Allure Lacque (which you well know have been discontinued for a while). I’m SO getting this soon. I feel like this will fit my look for my new position after my promotion. I can use this as sort of my “power office red” because it’s not an over-the-top red.

I guess new position calls for a celebratory lipstick! Lol!

Christine, I know I’m a bit late, but how does Rose Precieux compare to Bobbi Brown Party Alice from 2 years ago?

Many thanks in advance! Trying to decide between Dior Diorific Winter and this one 🙂
