Givenchy Golden Red (888) Le Rouge Lipstick Review & Swatches
Golden Red (888)
($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium, warmer red base with flecks of gold sparkle throughout. The finish was more satin-to-matte than particularly glossy, but it had noticeable sparkle and shimmer but not enough to make it truly metallic.
The texture was moderately dense with enough glide to apply comfortably without tugging; it seemed less velvety and creamy compared to other Le Rouges, though. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer, which deposited even color that didn’t emphasize my lip lines or natural texture. The color stayed on well for five hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.12 oz. - $300.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "intense color" with a "semimatte finish." Most shades are opaque with a few falling short of full coverage that apply evenly and last between four and six hours. The fomrula is lightly creamy to moderately creamy with some slip that is comfortable to wear and typically moisturizing over time. It has a floral scent but no discernible taste.

Wow – I do love this golden red shade – so very Christmassy.
This is really pretty!
Givenchy Golden Red is such a beautiful color!
Now that’s a showstopper RED! I’m in love with this one!
Very pretty !
What a stunning shade! I told myself I was going to wait for reviews before I buy this, and you’ve convinced me! It’s surprisingly hard to find a good red with gold shimmer, and none of the dupes are easily accessible for me or much cheaper anyways. And this has the bonus of having gorgeous packaging!
This reminds of my TF Extreme Lip Spark in Stunner.
I was going to say “This looks like it would be perfect for a fancy New Year’s gift!” — and then I saw the packaging. So that’s intentional; no wonder it’s number 888 too. 😀
This is gorgeous! It’s not in the top dupes but immediately made me think of Mac Sweet Sakura.
I think this is the red I’ve been looking for! It is warm (maybe too warm for my skin tone), but it also has a softness due to the sparkle and luminosity. Can’t swatch in my city though, there’s lockdown.
Gorgeous bullet and packaging. I can’t remember if Givenchy heavily fragrances their cosmetics like YSL, but it’s not like I need another red lipstick in my life….
