Givenchy Croisiere Coral (310) Le Rouge Review, Photos, Swatches

Givenchy Croisiere Coral (310) Le Rouge ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a warm, coral-orange with a satiny finish. Urban Decay Protest is darker, pinker. NARS Lodhi is more orange. MAC Style Surge is very, very comparable. MAC Razzledazzler is lighter. See comparison swatches.

It had mostly opaque color, and it had a satiny finish–not glossy but not matte–that gave lips a very smooth, even appearance. I noticed that the consistency of this shade was slightly looser compared to the others; thicker but not really thick, but it didn’t apply with as much coverage in a single stroke and tended to move around a bit more. If I pressed my lips together, slight lines would become visible where the color bunched up. Croisiere Coral wore well, though, and lasted five and a half hours when I wore it and was nicely hydrating during that time.

I had planned to pick this shade up off of Sephora next time I placed a Sephora order, but by the time that happened, it had sold out. The only place that I know of that you can purchase online is from Givenchy’s website directly (and they still have it at the time I wrote this review). You may still be able to find it at local Sephoras, though. Because it’s a limited edition shade for summer, it is actually packaged with a thin, white leather covering instead of black for the permanent Le Rouge shades. I’m even less keen about white leather than I was about the black leather, because it’s still thin and seems like it will be scratched easily, but now it’s likely to get dirt and dust and stains on it.

I was planning to buy this shade, but after trying it in the store I ended up purchasing the other shade from the summer collection, the fuschia. This one looked way too pale on me, and it also made my lips look very dry, emphasizing every little line. It was really not flattering on me!!

Ditto on the white leather being unpractical, I have only the original black one, and even if the white is pretty it could become so dirty easily.

I’m CRAZY about Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick. It is hand down my favorite lipstick EVER – great coverage with one swipe. Pretty finish and doesn’t “travel” beyond where I apply it! Great texture and longevity and it doesn’t turn into some weird color stain after it finally wears off. Seems like it lasts really long – and then it’s gone. No weird red-orange-pink stain left to cover up before next application. I am sooo anxious for Givenchy to expand the colors and was very excited about the new fucshia and coral!! HOWEVER, the 2 Summer colors are not quite the same. They don’t cover as evenly – or in one swipe and I didn’t find the longevity as long. I hope they add to the collection- more “blue based” reds, pinks, plums and nudes please- but with same formula as originals- NOT same as the 2 Summer colors. Christine, please use all your influence!!!!

But you have a lot of followers, right? That should have at least a LITTLE influence with Givenchy! At least enough for them to LISTEN to a suggestion from you!! Seriously. If not input from people like YOU then who DO they listen to? I doubt there are many people who can speak for as many women so knowledgeably as you can. They should certainly consider what you think and put out there!

I remember swatching this on counter and preferring the other LE shade on me, however this looks gorgeous on you Christine, I suspect it would look bad on me though. Iยดm actually looking to pick up another permanent shade because I prefer black leather over white leather, seriously the white leather packaging could become so damaged…
