Givenchy Brun Cachemire (104) Le Rouge Lipstick
Givenchy Brun Cachemire (104) Le Rouge Lipstick

Givenchy Brun Cachemire (104) Le Rouge Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “plum brown.” It’s a warm-toned, rosy brown with a smooth, satin finish. The color coverage was opaque with one pass, and the consistency was lightly creamy but not so much so that it slipped around once applied. I thought Brun Cachemire left lips looking smoother and softer than they actually were. It wore well for five hours on me and was lightly hydrating when worn. Givenchy Brun Createur (103) (P, $36.00) is pinker. Urban Decay Protest (P, $22.00) is slightly pinker. MAC Glamour Era (P, $22.00) is browner. NARS Lodhi (P, $25.00) is lighter. MAC Style Surge (P, $22.00) is also lighter. Guerlain Avarice (P, $49.50) is rosier. Buxom Two-Timer (P, $21.00) is a smidgen lighter. See comparison swatches.

Rose Taffetas (201) Le Rouge Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “light pink coral.” It’s a warm-toned, medium pink with a lightly glossy, luminous finish. It had opaque color coverage, and the formula on this shade felt somewhat more emollient/had more slip compared to other shades in the range, which gave it a shinier finish. It applied evenly for the most part. It wore well for four and a half hours and was nicely moisturizing during that time. Buxom Mistress (LE, $21.00) is very similar. Urban Decay Streak (P, $22.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Rush (P, $22.00) is more muted. MAC Viva Glam Nicki (LE, $15.00) is cooler-toned. Chanel Hyde Park (LE, $34.00) is brighter. MAC Hoop is more matte. See comparison swatches.

Rose Dentelle (203) Le Rouge Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “deep rose.” It’s a rosy coral with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had rich pigmentation and yielded full color coverage when applied to the lips. It was moderately creamy and applied smoothly and evenly. It’s definitely a formula that makes lips appear healthier, fuller, and softer. It wore well for five hours on me and was nicely hydrating during that time. Givenchy Brun Createur (103) (P, $36.00) is lighter, more matte. Too Faced Coral Fire (P, $21.00) is also a bit lighter. Urban Decay Protest (P, $22.00) is lighter. MAC Lady at Play (P, $22.00) is brighter. MAC Elegant Accent (P, $22.00) is pinker. See comparison swatches.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

OMGG ! I wantttt # 203 now 😀 was confused between this and rose boudoir …
this i guess would be great choice 😀 and you gave it A + , what else i need
you are looking beautiful in everyyyy lipstick here

Lovely shades – interesting names though. Anyone else think of Chanel? Chanel has a “tafettas rose” instead of “rose tafettas”, and I wore their “rose dentelle” for about a year….

Christine you look super perfect in these pictures! I’m not completely caught up on your blog yet so I don’t know if you’ve talked about this already, but please tell us what your doctor prescribes you and what your routine has been for your skin! You look flawless. Also sorry if you’ve answered this in these comments, but I’m on my phone so can’t search but what foundation are you wearing here?

Hi Arrianne!

I use clindamycin (topical antibiotic) and Differin (though I use generic) as my two topical prescriptions. I really credit all improvement to these two products 🙂

I believe I’m wearing Guerlain Tenue de Perfection here!
