Fyrinnae Because Cats Eyeshadow ($6.25 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “wine-grape layered on a dark base, sprinkled with rainbow sparkle.” It’s a medium-dark, cool-toned purple with blue, violet, and fuchsia micro-shimmer. It had a frosted finish. Applied dry, it takes on a softer, more muted appearance and is semi-opaque. Applied damp or over Pixie Epoxy (second swatch), it’s much more opaque and appears richer and darker. It wore well for eight hours on the lid over Pixie Epoxy (which isn’t a primer, just as a reminder!), and I had no fall out; when worn applied damp to the lid, I had good wear for almost eight hours and very minimal fall out. Sleek MakeUP Bliss in Barcelona (LE, $9.99) is warmer. Too Faced Badass (LE) is more muted. MAC Thunder and Rain #2 (LE, $21.00) is somewhat similar. Urban Decay Half Truth (LE, $18.00) is darker, less blue. MAC Banafsaji (LE, $15.00) is bluer. Giorgio Armani Ecailles Black Pearl #2 (LE) is lighter. See comparison swatches.

Boot Season Eyeshadow ($6.25 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “multi-faceted green … graced with hues of brown and rust.” It’s a medium-dark, forest green with warm, brown undertones and a frosted, slightly metallic, sheen. Applied dry, it’s semi-sheer and lighter–also warmer–and then applied over Pixie Epoxy (or damp), it is darker and more pigmented. It wore well for eight hours on the lid over Pixie Epoxy, and I had no fall out; when worn applied damp to the lid, I had good wear for almost eight hours and very minimal fall out.  This shade is very, very soft and is best applied over Pixie Epoxy, dampened, or else patted on to maintain color opacity.  Dior Bonne Etoile (384) #1 (LE) is warmer, darker. Urban Decay Zodiac (P, $20.00) is very similar. MAC Unsurpassable (LE, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Greensmoke (DC, $15.00) is similar. L’Oreal Golden Emerald (P, $7.99) is slightly greener. Sugarpill Junebug (P, $12.00) is less warm-toned. Make Up For Ever #84 (P, $20.00) is darker, more muted. Inglot #418 (P, $6.00) is brighter, greener. See comparison swatches.

Frostbytes Eyeshadow ($6.25 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “striking metallic deep silver.” It’s a medium-dark silver with cool undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. Applied dry, it had a softer, almost warm-toned appearance, and then applied damp or over Pixie Epoxy, it was fully opaque and the finish became more metallic. This shade lasted for a full eight hours whether applied on the bare lid with a damp brush or over Pixie Epoxy. Urban Decay Shellshock (LE, $18.00) is lighter. Too Faced Jailbird (LE) is a touch lighter. Urban Decay Oz #2 (LE, $18.00) is similar. MAC Tundra (LE) is a cream product. MAC Evening Grey (LE, $21.00) is less metallic. MAC Silver Sleet (LE, $32.50) is cooler-toned. Estee Lauder Cyber Silver (LE, $24.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.

Fyrinnae’s eyeshadows can also be purchased in mini sizes (the brand says these mini sizes are approximately 0.4 to 0.7 grams, or 0.014 to 0.025 oz.). All of the ones shown in this post are mini sizes!

I always, always hear great things about this brand but for some reason, have never tried it! I have never been that big a fan of loose shadows but then I saw the stunning swatches of some of these shadows pressed. Beautiful! I want to try my hand at pressing loose pigments anyway so I definitely need to do some shopping!

I finally placed an order with them in November and the sample I received was Because Cats. I CANNOT OVERSTATE HOW PRETTY THE SPARKLE IS. Over Pixie Epoxy it’s just ridiculous. Absolutely cray. And the name is perfect, lol! I love their names. Callipygian is an awesome word…more eyeshadows should be named after butts.
