Formula Overview
$25.00/0.056 oz. - $446.43 Per Ounce
The product is described as "intensely pigmented" and long-wearing that is "easy to blend and smudge with a brush or fingers." It is also designed to be layered and is touted as "transfer-proof" and "water-proof." The range comes in both matte and shimmer finishes. Some shades performed better than others, and I'd say that the matte shades tended to be more finicky and less forgiving in application compared to the shimmer shades.
With the matte shades, they were quite pigmented, but they dried down as one blended them out (even while working quite quickly!), which made it a challenge to get an even, blended application of the product. Instead, the product tended to lift and move, creating noticeably patchy areas. I did not feel like it layered as well as the dry down was firmer and a touch tacky, so layering tended to lift up the first layer and increased the unevenness instead.
The shimmer shades had a bit more time to work, which may have been why the seemed easier to use initially, but the working time was still pretty short, and once it started to set, it became difficult to blend. They tended to work "best" applied with a fingertip and blended as one went OR applied with the stick and buffed out only at the edges rather than sheered out. Neither the matte nor shimmer shades were the most flattering to lids with texture or any dryness either.
The wear was inconsistent across shades, but they were not particularly long-wearing. The drier matte shades were prone to flaking and slight creasing after four hours, whereas the shimmery shades were more prone to creasing after three to four hours.

They dry down too quickly, but they also crease quickly?? Not a great combo!
Oddly, the very things that make these fail as eyeshadows are things that would make these perform as exactly the waterproof base that I now use for eyeshadow primers! Yeah, my eyes don’t work well with traditional eyeshadow primers, but things like Nyx JEP’s and other similar types of e/s sticks applied to my lids (or applied with my ring finger) and immediately smudged from inner corner over and up seems to do the trick.
Umm, I don’t know what to say about this except that it is sad. There are a couple of these colors that I would have loved to have. I really didn’t expect this from Fenty. I don’t know much about Fenty these days but the blushes are great. I do remember a Christmas release that was pretty bad and I had already purchased it before reading the review. That was the last time that I purchased something without reading the reviews unless I knew I was going to buy it regardless which I have done with products that I collect rather than plan to use.
Oh No! I love these colours – especially Candy Rapper and U Ain’t Reddy and to find another set as duds is just plain awful.
The verified reviews on Sephora are also bad, with almost all saying the same thing – patchy, hard to blend and fade away very quickly. Fenty doesn’t seem to have much luck creating good eyeshadows as the various pressed powder formulas in their palettes didn’t receive many rave reviews either
I stupidly bought some of these without waiting for your review, and my experience with them mirrors yours exactly. I found the mattes (much) worse, too, and that’s saying something. SUCH a disappointing effort (or lack thereof) from Fenty.
Oooh – talk about dismal!
OMG 😲 I’m so surprised. Usually Fenty products are amazing. I’m so glad I decided to leave these off my recent order!!! Maybe they’ll listen to the honest constructive criticism feedback and fix the formula as the concept is really what drew me in.
Big oof – well that was an easy pass. Thanks for the swatches and reviews as always.
