Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette Review, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette
This is part two of our review on Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette ($56.00 for 2.59 oz.). Please make sure to read part one for an overview of the palette.
Coquet is a pale, light-medium pink with a golden, frosted finish and warm, yellow undertones. It had nice color payoff, and it applied smoothly and blended out well. It wore well for over eight hours without fading or creasing. Kat Von D Instaglam (LE) is less golden. MAC Dare to Bare (LE, $21.00) is similar. Disney by Sephora Treasures Untold (LE) is a touch lighter. MAC Invincible Light (LE, $21.00) is pinker. MAC Good Fortune (LE, $16.50) is a cream product. bareMinerals Glitterati (LE) is a full-on dupe. See comparison swatches.
Taffy is a light-medium, warm-toned pink with a slightly metallic sheen. It swatched a lot lighter than it looked in the pan due to the more reflective shimmer in it. It had good pigmentation and applied smoothly, evenly, and blended well on the lid. It lasted well for eight hours. Kat Von D Instaglam (LE) is lighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Tease #5 (P) is similar. MAC Dare to Bare (LE, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Invincible Light (LE, $21.00) is more frosted. MAC Love Power (LE, $18.50) is a cream product. Chanel Harmonie du Soir #4 (LE) is similar. Make Up For Ever #303 (P, $20.00) is pinker. See comparison swatches.
Crisp Apple Strudel is a warm, medium brown with a bronze sheen. It had fantastic pigmentation, and it had a buttery, smooth texture that made it one of the best eyeshadows to work with in the palette. It wore well for almost nine hours (no fading/creasing). Disney by Sephora Les Poissons (LE) is lighter. Urban Decay Spotlight (LE, $18.00) is also lighter. Maybelline Bad to the Bronze (P, $6.99) is warmer. Buxom Mutt (P, $18.00) is a cream product. bareMinerals A-Ha (P) is cooler-toned. Inglot #402 (P, $6.00) is also cooler-toned. See comparison swatches.
Woolen Mittens is a subtly gray-tinged, medium-dark brown with a satin-matte finish. It had so-so color payoff, but the texture was dry and somewhat stiff to work with, so it didn’t blend easily and didn’t have fully opaque pigmentation. It was noticeably faded after eight hours of wear. bareMinerals Get Ahead (LE) is more matte. Kat Von D Wolf (P) is darker. Urban Decay Secret Service (P, $18.00) is darker. Illamasqua Focus (LE, $26.00) is pinker and a cream product.See comparison swatches.
Soiree is a dark burgundy with warm, red undertones and a subtle sparkle over a matte finish. It had decent pigmentation, but the texture was somewhat powdery, so it tended to sheer out. It’s a shade best applied by patting it on. I saw slight fading after eight hours of wear. Too Faced Charming (LE) is less red-toned. Tom Ford Beauty Enchanted #4 (LE) is darker. MAC Sketch (P, $15.00) is less warm. See comparison swatches.
Tinsel is a dirty, medium gold with a frosted, metallic finish. It had really rich color payoff, but the texture could have been just a bit smoother. It wore well for almost nine hours, though. bareMinerals Gold Medal (P, $16.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches.
Bluff is a medium-dark, muted purple with mauve undertones and a frosted sheen. It had good color payoff, and the texture was soft, fairly smooth, and blendable. It wore well for eight hours. Dior Constellation (864) #5 (LE) is less metallic. Urban Decay Rapture (LE, $18.00) is darker. MAC Winterized (LE, $21.00) is also darker. MAC Frost at Midnight (LE, $21.00) is more frosted. Inglot #420 (P, $6.00) is more metallic, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches.
Ooh la Orchid is a magenta purple with a matte finish. It had good pigmentation, and the texture was soft, blendable, and just a tiny bit powdery. It wore well for almost nine hours before fading. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Tease #6 (P) is similar. NARS Fashion Rebel #2 (LE, $24.00) is more muted. MAC Spoiled Rich (LE, $15.00) is purpler. Bobbi Brown Ultra Violet (P, $21.00) is similar. See comparison swatches.
Party Time is a bluish-teal shimmer layered over a blackened navy blue. It was semi-sheer, and it looked a lot different swatched than it did in the pan. I wasn’t able to build up the color on the lid at all, unfortunately, so it tended to look faded and muted when applied. I had some fall out while I wore it, and it did crease slightly after eight hours of wear. Dior Cosmos (281) (P, $30.00) is darker, less iridescent. MAC Bleuluxe #3 (P) is similar. Giorgio Armani #1 (P, $33.00) is more metallic. See comparison swatches.
Pure Glam is a deep, dark black with a matte finish and silver sparkle. It had good color payoff, but the texture was somewhat powdery, which resulted in the color blending out fairly quickly and gave it a sheerer appearance unless it was packed on. It wore well for almost eight and a half hours but there was some fall out from the sparkle. There are a lot of shades like this. See comparison swatches.
This review excludes the mascara and the Color Bomb!, for your information, with the latter excluded because Too Faced’s original Lip Injection brutalizes my lips in a way that few products ever have and I am not courageous enough to make an attempt to try the next iteration of the formula at this time.

I swore off more eyeshadow palettes but I’m a sucker for palettes with face items (blushes/bronzers etc.) I may pick this up during the Sephora VIB sale. I just got the Ulta Tarte Holiday set but haven’t used it yet so I really need to cut myself off from palette purchases. But…this set is calling my name.
LOL! Palettes are both hard and easy to resist. The value! so much pretties! but then… we know we have so much already 😉
Are you talking about the Gorgeous Getaways palette? How is it? I think I want it, but I’m trying to make a smart decision! Lol.
I wasn’t even considering these palettes until I saw this post! Everyone of those shades (with the exception of Oh La Orchid (?)) are shades I would wear everyday. There are even a couple of shades I didn’t know I was looking for! Thanks a lot Christine /s 🙂
No problem! Happy to share, Christina 🙂
Coquet really has me! I think this seems like it has more use-value for me over the Vice 2 palette.
That’s awesome!
I love this SO much! Too bad I’m broke .-.
Maybe a good item for a birthday or holiday wish list?
And here is Soiree! Yep, love it 😉
🙂
What a shame about Party Time. It looks so “must-have-able” in the pan.
Agreed!
Can you PLEASE review the Ulta Tarte Gorgeous Getaways Portable Palette set?! Please! It looks like too good of a value to pass up, but I’m really trying to only make very good makeup purchases lol.
I don’t have it, but I will definitely keep it in mind, Cristina! 🙂 Musings of a Muse might have a review on it already or may do a review since I know she’s a big Tarte fan!
These shadows are gorgeous!!!
Think it’s the right palette for you, Chantel?
I really really want to love it.. But I find the theme to be too… Christmasy… Maybe a little too Christmasy? I feel so torn…
There’s a such thing as too Christmas-y? :O
La paleta es preciosa, pero algunas sombras parece que no pigmentan demasiado bien….
that second eye look is gorgeous… i wish i would have ordered this rather than pick up that pixi palette from target =/ maybe i’ll just put this on my christmas list ;]
Thanks, Amara!
Is the Pixi palette no good?
right now it’s still a toss up to me.. they last quite a while, but the blushes have to be built up.. which is shocking to me because i’m so fair! haha i don’t usually need to add a ton of blush.
the eyeshadow colors look pretty but the finish just seems weird on me.. they’re not really frosty but powdery and uber shimmery, which is another shocker because i love shimmer. they seem to look better when i use cream shadow bases that are more similar to whatever color i’m using, so i’m still giving it a shot for a bit of time!
Yeah, that lip injection is……..interesting!! In an “Oh my God my lips are on fire!” kind of way. :]
Oh my goodness, it so is. I have no idea what strength is in the Color Bombs, but I’m not motivated to find out, lol! I also seem to react more frequently to lip plumping products in general so I am wary!
Thanks for the review! I love when you include looks you made with the pallets so we can see how the colours go together. Are Soiree and Pure Glam available individually?
Unfortunately, they aren’t 🙁
This is one of myfavorite from all the palettes launced by Too faced.. though some of them failed to deliver but few of teh eyeshadows are really pretty and unique shades whic I would love to own!! 🙂
Yay! I’m so glad you’re liking this one!
I just got this palette a few days ago and I love it!! My only complaint is that alot of the colors are colors that have been in other Too Faced palettes but have been renamed. Like for example: Snowflakes is identical to Marshmallow (Sweet Indulgences), Whiskers on Kittens is identical to Peach Fuzz (Sweet Indulgences and Summer Eye); Dark Chocolate is identical to Sexspresso (Natural Eye) and Coffee Bean (Shadow Bon Bons and Matte Eye); Cream Colored Ponies is identical to In the Buff (Sweet Indulgences), Vanilla (Shadow Bon Bons), and Heaven (Natural Eye); Honey Honey is identical to Honey Pot (Natural Eye); Coquet is identical to Satin Sheets (Sweet Indulgences and Naked Eye); Soiree is identical to Cherry Cola (Sweet Indulgences); Bluff is identical to Nice Ash (Sweet Indulgences and Smokey Eye); Pure Glam is identical to Black Sugar (Sweet Indulgences) and Mrs Sparkles (Pretty Rebel). I do wish it had more brand new colors in it though because I love Too Faced!
I’m not surprised to see that there is some overlap! It sounds like you’ve found QUITE a bit of overlap, though 🙁
This palette looks amazing, I need it in my make up bag! 🙂 xx
Fun! I hope you enjoy it, Tammy!
Whoa, these are so pretty and universal 😮 Although, some shadows are somewhat not too pigmented… I want to try Too Faced eyeshadows))
Do you like your eyeshadows sheerer or super pigmented?
Just picked up this palette a couple days ago, and like you, I was quite disappointed by Party Time, as it was the shadow that initially caught my attention. However, the palette is still loaded with a variety of wearable colors.
I find that Evergreen adds a nice pop of color on the lower lash line 😉
Glad you’re still liking the palette, Amy! 😀
Hi I have a quick question, which palette would u recommend, vice to or this palette?.. if u would kindly tell me you’re opinion 🙂
Vice2*
Probably Vice, just because I prefer UD’s eyeshadow texture myself!
Do you know if this pallete comes to england or france ?
I don’t!
Is there a weight on the shadows and blusher? Any size on the mascara and lip stain as well? I bought the NYX City of Bones but am going to swap it for this! Luckily I did not open NYX yet… yes, pay USD30 more for the palate as NYX is only about USD26 here…but it looks so worth it…nyx is made in China. Where is Too Faced made? I am from Kuala Lumpur (sure you know this city due to Nars blush!)
It says “Bulk” made in the U.S. but assembled in the Dominic Republic!
