Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette Review, Photos, Swatches (Part 1)
Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette
Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette ($56.00) includes twenty eyeshadowa, two blushes, two bronzers, full-sized Lip Injection Color Bomb! (in Bee Sting), and travel-sized Better Than Sex Mascara. Too Faced listed the value of the set at $436.
Overall, it’s a decent palette with a variety of shades from neutral to color as well as finishes that range from matte to satin to frost. The cheek products tended to run warmer rather than cooler, though one shade was neutral to cool. The palette itself is slim and doesn’t waste space; it feels as minimal as they could make it. There were definitely a few duds within the eyeshadows included in the palette (notably, Snowflakes, Moon on Their Wings, Woolen Mittens, and Party Time), which did bring down what otherwise felt like a good palette. These misses tended to be both sheer and powdery.
Blushes/Bronzers
Raindrops on Roses is a light-medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and an overlay of gold shimmer. The more the color is blended out, the more frosted the finish becomes. It also seems to get warmer when it is sheered out, but it might be an illusion on my warmer-toned skin. It had fairly good color payoff, and it blended out easily. This shade wore well for seven hours and was noticeably faded after eight hours of wear. Tom Ford Beauty Wicked (P, $55.00) is cooler-toned, darker. MAC Pink Tea (LE, $21.00) is less gold-shimmered. MAC Divine Desire (LE, $21.00) is darker. MAC Gentle (P, $25.00) is more muted. Chanel Pink Explosion (LE, $43.00) is less shimmery. Bobbi Brown Pastel Pink (P, $26.00) is matte. See comparison swatches.
Chocolate Soleil is a medium-dark brown with warm, yellow-orange undertones and a satin finish. It was nicely pigmented and applied easily. This shade is part of the permanent range. It wore well for seven and a half hours but was slightly faded after just over eight hours of wear. Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest (P, $3.99) is warmer. Urban Decay Toasted (P, $26.00) is more shimmery. NARS Laguna (P, $36.00) is more golden. MAC Lush Light Bronze (LE, $28.00) is similar. MAC Refined Golden (P, $25.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.
Melt Into Spring is a medium, pink-coral with a matte finish and warm undertones. It is extremely pigmented, and the texture is soft but a smidgen powdery. Luckily, it doesn’t look powdery on the skin. The color wore well for eight hours on me, and it started to look somewhat worn away after nine hours of wear. Bobbi Brown Pink Coral (LE, $26.00) is warmer. MAC Simmer (LE, $25.00) is slightly darker. theBalm Frat Boy (P, $21.00) is similar. Dior Pink Happiness (LE, $42.00) is similar. See comparison swatches.
Sun Bunny #1 is a coppery brown with a frosted finish. It had excellent color payoff, and the texture was very soft but did emphasize pores when applied to the skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours before looking faded at eight hours. Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest (P, $3.99) is less shimmery. Disney by Sephora Golden Sands (LE, $55.00) Estee Lauder Topaz Chameleon (LE, $42.00) See comparison swatches.
Sun Bunny #2 is a light-medium orange with gold shimmer and frost. It had fairly good pigmentation and was soft overall. It did somewhat emphasize pores. The bronzer wore well for seven and a half hours but was somewhat faded after eight hours of wear. Physicians Formula Light Bronzer (P, $13.95) is yellower. MAC Nude on Board (LE, $30.00) is browner. Dior Coral Glow Bronzer (LE) is less frosted. See comparison swatches.
Eyeshadows
Snowflakes is a pale white gold with a frosted, metallic finish. The texture was somewhat chunky in the pan, so it really has to be pressed and blended to smooth out the color, which is easier to do on the arm than on the lid. If you are not careful, this can layer and look chunky/crepe-y on the lid. This shade had some fall out while worn. MAC Vanilla Diamond (LE, $21.00) is sheerer. Disney by Sephora Sea Shells (LE) is similar, Urban Decay Polyester Bride (P, $18.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches.
Whiskers on Kittens is a pale peach with a hint of pink and gold sparkle. It had fairly good color payoff, but the gold sparkle seemed to disperse off the surface of the underlying peach color, so I did have some fall out with this shade while worn. The texture was soft and not powdery. Too Faced Spike the Punch (LE) is less pink, more peach. Wet ‘n’ Wild Newport Nights #2 (LE) is warmer. See comparison swatches.
Chocolate Milk is a medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It had good color payoff, and the texture was soft and finely-milled without being powdery. It wore well on the lid and didn’t have any issues fading or creasing. Bobbi Brown Frappe (LE, $29.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Beware (LE, $18.00) is similar. Burberry Pale Nude #1 (P) is more satiny, darker. Inglot #357 (P, $6.00) is darker, redder in tone. See comparison swatches.
Moon on Their Wings is a warm, golden beige with a frosted, metallic finish and gold micro-glitter. It had semi-sheer color payoff, and the texture was somewhat chunky. I had noticeable fall out while wearing this shade, and the color did crease somewhat after eight hours. Disney by Sephora Scuttle (LE) is less glittery. MAC Rich Glance (LE, $21.00) is a cream product. MAC Retrospeck (P, $15.00) is more beige. Dior Night Golds #5 (LE) is less glittery. See comparison swatches.
Dark Chocolate is a dark brown with subtle cool undertones and a matte finish. It had decent color payoff, and the texture was soft without being powdery, but it was not as blendable as I’d expect it to be. It wore well for seven and a half hours but was slightly faded after eight hours. Tom Ford Beauty She Wolf #1 (LE) is cooler-toned. bareMinerals Boardroom (LE) is similar. MAC Showstopper (LE, $15.00) is similar. MAC Diamond Dove (LE, $15.00) is similar. bareMinerals Foreshadow (P) is cooler-toned. Inglot #326 (P, $6.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.
Cream Colored Ponies is a pale, cool-toned ivory with a matte finish. It had good pigmentation and applied smoothly and evenly. The texture was soft without becoming powdery. It wore well for almost eight hours before starting to fade. Too Faced Snow Angel (LE) is darker. Urban Decay Kinky (LE, $18.00) is similar. Bobbi Brown Ivory (LE, $29.00) is slightly darker. Bobbi Brown Bone (P, $29.00) is similar. See comparison swatches.
Honey Honey is a warm, golden copper with a frosted, metallic finish. The texture was slightly chunky, so it really needs to be pressed into the skin and then smoothed out for best results. It had good color payoff, and it wore well without fading/creasing for eight hours–I did see a smidgen of fall out, though. MAC Creative Copper (LE, $15.00) is similar. Disney by Sephora Cosmic (LE) is also similar. theBalm Manic Maribel (LE, $16.00) is darker. Urban Decay Chopper (P, $18.00) is darker. Urban Decay Limelight (LE, $18.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Penny Lane (LE, $18.00) is similar. MAC Retrospeck #2 (LE, $15.00) is darker. Dior Night Golds #2 (LE) is more glittery. bareMinerals Louder (LE) is similar. Inglot #405 (P, $6.00) is browner. See comparison swatches.
Buche de Noel is a medium-dark brown with a golden, frosted sheen. It had nice pigmentation, and the texture was soft, smooth, and blendable. It wore well for eight hours without fading or creasing. MAC Brownluxe #4 (P) is darker, less metallic.Urban Decay Chase (P, $18.00) is lighter. Giorgio Armani #6 (P, $33.00) is similar. Inglot #409 (P, $6.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches.
Evergreen is a medium-dark forest green with cool undertones and a pearly finish. It had decent color payoff, but the texture was on the drier side, so it didn’t have fully opaque color and wasn’t as blendable as I expected. It wore well for seven hours but was somewhat faded after eight hours of wear. Sephora Collection Rolling in the Grass (10) (P, $13.00) is more sparkly. Urban Decay Bender (P, $18.00) is darker. NARS Night Porter (LE, $24.00) is darker. MAC Humid (P, $15.00) is warmer, lighter. MAC Greensmoke (DC, $15.00) is warmer. L’Oreal Golden Emerald (P, $7.99) is similar. Make Up For Ever #310 (P, $20.00) is slightly darker. Inglot #418 (P, $6.00) is a bit darker. See comparison swatches.
Blue Satin Sashes is a deep, dark blue-teal with a matte finish and subtle gold sparkle. The gold sparkle might as well not exist, as it doesn’t show up visibly on the lid when applied. The color is very pigmented, but the texture is so soft that it is powdery, so it’s a shade that can have excessive fall out during application. Once applied, it did wear well for almost eight hours. MAC Prussian (P, $15.00) is similar. Make Up For Ever #60 (P, $20.00) is richer. Make Up For Ever #8E (P, $20.00) is a cream product. See comparison swatches.
This review excludes the mascara and the Color Bomb!, for your information, with the latter excluded because Too Faced’s original Lip Injection brutalizes my lips in a way that few products ever have and I am not courageous enough to make an attempt to try the next iteration of the formula at this time.

I love Evergreen! It’s a nice fall/winter/holiday color. I was waiting for your review on this 🙂
Glad I was able to review it for you, Valerie!
I purchased this palette on impulse yesterday. Excited to try your eye looks, so beautiful!!
Enjoy your new palette, Nancy!
Ah, I wish this had performed a little better, because I think the color range is really beautiful. The swatches don’t look quite as pigmented as I’d like
I like some of the shades, but there were definitely a few total misses!
If this palette had consistent naming (as in, all were from the Sound of Music) I would buy this palette for the pure nostalgia… as it is, I think I have enough dupes of these shadows to pass.
I thought some of the names weren’t consistent, which I did find odd!
This looks lovely! Such a beautiful range of shades and the blushes are so pretty! Thanks for the swatches 🙂
Sure thing, Jen! 🙂
I am definitely considering this palette. The names really get me! And I think Too Faced’s shadows are really underrated.
Do you have other Too Faced palettes, Danielle?
Anybody else read the name of the palette and the name of the shades with the melody of the song in their head? 😀
No? Just me? *sad face*
Anyways, this is a really pretty palette and I was looking forward to it, too bad the swatches doesn’t seem to be on par with my expectation. Will you do a holiday palette recommendation, Christine? Thank you!
I’m sure you’re not the only one 😉
I will probably do a round-up of holiday palettes at some point, but we’ll see how long it takes me to get through them!
I feel the same, Alexandra. And yes, the song was playing in my head as well. 😀 Some of these shadows could have been beautiful had they performed well in Christine’s swatch test. Alas, the quality doesn’t meet the nostalgia. What a great palette idea, though!
And can someone PLEASE tell me why manufacturers think that contouring should have an ORANGE base?! Shadows are generally grey, not orange. I’ll never understand that.
Definitely a pass for me, but thank your for taking the time to swatch and review this, Christine. <3
oh YES. I think I was singing it as I bought it. I am pretty sure that I bought the last one in all of UT yesterday.
What lipstick are you wearing? I love the color!
I don’t remember! 🙁
A part of me is disappointed they didn’t name a shadow or bronzer “Brown paper packages tied up in a string” but I guess that’s too long of a name.
It would be really fun if they arranged the eye shadows on the order they appear of “my favorite things”.
That would have been fun if they were in order!
Looks lovely! All the shades look great imp, but Soiree really caught my attention 🙂
Think you’ll pick one up for yourself?
I really love this, but I tried too faced shadows before and was really, really disappointed…your review helps a lot. I love sound of music still watch it couple of times a year, but you’re right the names are a bit weird.
Thanks for the review, Christine! I just got back from Sephora and this palette totally caught my eye, but I wanted to wait for your review before deciding whether or not I actually wanted it 😛
But now I’m torn, of course! Looks like I already own some dupes for a handful of these colours (Honey Honey, Pure Glam, and Bluff, especially) and it sounds like there’s lots of sparkle fall-out, which is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to eyeshadows 🙁 A lot of them look so beautiful though…
This is on my wish list. I was waiting to see a review from you because you never disappoint
Thank you!
I love the song so much that I’ll have to buy the palette for that reason alone. It’ll be just one of those things that will always make me smile when I pull it out.
Aww! 🙂 That is awesome! Definitely means it will be a good palette for you!
I wish there were singles of certain products from this! I love the way the split bronzer looks and Blue Satin Sashes is just beautiful!!
Me too! I’m not surprised they seem to be doing away with singles, though, since they have a lot of palettes!
Thanks for reviewing this, I usually collect Too Faced holiday palettes and I was anxious to see swatches of the Sephora exclusive this year! I think raindrops on roses is a great blush, it looks great on you Christine!
No prob, April! 🙂
I so need this in my makeup collection!
I bought this palette because I have no self control, but it’s basically last years set with a few more colors and new names (Raindrops on Roses is La Vie En Rose). Seriously, Google Too Faced Sweet Indulgences palette- even the layout is identical! Now this years kit does have 20 eyeshadows as compared to last years 16, but unless you really like the four new shades you might want to skip it.
I bought this and the Be Merry/ Be Bright kit so I ended up with a bunch of dupes. Granted it’s not the end of the world for a Too Faced fan- especially one who travels a lot and is always worried about shattering their makeup. But I would have loved it if they could have come out with some new colors, or even some different finishes for existing favorites. I mean how many people have to complain Peach Fuzz would be perfect if they omitted the glitter before they do it?.
Am i imagining it , or do you really have pink blush on your left cheek and brown on your right cheek and that you are aligning your cheek so as to show off the color in each case. Just curious . Also, do you think the color coquet could be used as a highlighter ? very pretty and ethereal color .
I am wearing two different blushes, since I am only showing them for swatches 🙂
Yes, it could be used as a highlighter!
I would really love to know, how would you compare this palette to Urban Decay’s Vice 2? I can only afford to get one or the other and they both have such a variety of shades; 20 in each palette. if you could ONLY have one or the other, which would you prefer? or which do you think is more wearable?
I prefer the texture of UD’s Vice 2, overall, compared to this one! Too Faced’s might be more “wearable” if you mean more neutral! 🙂
When will this be out in uk?
I don’t know 🙁
Hey Temptalia,
I just bought this palette and was reading your review, I noticed that the sizing of the blushes and bronzers aren’t the same for what you posted and what it says on the box. Perhaps there was a mistake made somewhere? Or could there possibly be two batches of the palette made with different sized blush/bronzers? On my box it is written: bronzers net wt 0.14Oz (4g) each for a total net Wt of .28Oz (8g). Blushes were also each 0.14Oz (4g) each for a total of 0.28Oz (8g). This would make the sizes of the blushes smaller than what you have listed above.
Just thought I’d bring this to your attention! Thanks for the review. 🙂
Hi Anna,
I’ll have to check the back of my palette – I’m not sure if I took the info from my palette or if I simply copied what Sephora listed (Sephora sold out of it, so the page is no longer available for me to see if that’s why there’s inconsistency). Thanks!
Christine, they aren’t coming back, are they? =( I’m so heartbroken.
🙁
Has this palette been discontiued ???
This was a LE palette!
Do you know where it’s still available? I’ve searched high and low including overseas and it’s sold out every where! I’d love to buy it even if anyone isn’t using there’s or doesn’t like it
I don’t think it is any more 🙁
