Estee Lauder Dark Desire, Pink Parfait, Crystal Baby Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Dark Desire
Estee Lauder Dark Desire Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark reddish-brown with subtle, warm undertones and fine pearl. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that went on evenly and smoothly on the lips. The lipstick was lightly creamy with enough slip to glide on without tugging but did not slide around once on. This shade lasted for four and a half hours on me and was hydrating.
The formula is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It takes the Pure Color Envy formula and adds shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer was finer in size, so the lipsticks did not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles didn’t migrate as the lipstick wears down. The coverage was more semi-opaque to opaque, though a lighter hand could achieve medium coverage. . It was lightly creamy with some slip that became more noticeable as the formula warmed up against the lips. The wear ranged from four to six hours and was typically hydrating. The formula featured a vanilla scent but had no discernible taste.

Formula Overview
$32.00/0.12 oz. - $266.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It took the Pure Color Envy formula and added shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer was finer in size, so the lipsticks did not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles didn’t migrate as the lipstick wore down.
The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to nearly opaque, so it really depended on the shade on how true it was to medium coverage. The formula felt lightly creamy, thinner but not clingy, and with just enough slip to be comfortable to apply and to wear without feeling slippery during wear. The shades lasted from four to six hours and usually hydrating while worn.
The formula had a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Pink Parfait
Estee Lauder PInk Parfait Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium, rosy pink with subtle, warm undertones and fine gold and pink pearl that made it appear more frosted compared to other shades in the range. It had medium, buildable coverage–one of the few that really seemed true to the claim of “medium coverage.” It was lightly creamy, didn’t tug on the lips during application but didn’t slide around while I wore it. It could have applied just a smidgen more evenly, though. The color wore well for four hours and was hydrating.

Crystal Baby
Estee Lauder Crystal Baby Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had a lot less shimmer compared to the majority of the shades in the Hi-Lustre range, and it felt like a sheerer version of the Pure Color Sculpting formula to me. It was smooth, creamy without being heavy or too slippery, and applied fairly well. There was a bit of color that pulled into my deeper lip lines over the four hours it lasted, though it was hydrating.

I like Dark Desire, looks like an easy red to wear
It would be!
I just got spared by my dupes! However, I have got to say that all 3 look like good, solid shades. The only one that I don’t own a “close” dupe for is Crystal Baby. But even then, I already have one of its dupes on my wishlist since forever: Razzledazzler.
yay for dupes 😀
These are really pretty. Luckily, I have dupes for the first two.
Thank goodness!
I’m really digging Dark Desire and Pink Parfait. The latter is very Barbie!
Dark Desire is lovely!
Kinda likin’ Pink Parfait… get my Dynasty on.
Haha!
These lipsticks have a lovely sheen to them and I really like Dark Desire. So pretty.
The finish is fab!
I really like Dark Desire.
All three are pretty but for some strange reason I feel like a red with a brownish tone at the moment.
Great pick, Helene!
Dark Desire <3 <3 My kind of plummy/rosey shade!!! I love it!
That seems to be everyone’s fave!
Yay!
Pink Parfait has been my ‘your lips but better’ shade for like the last 15 yrs. I have a tube in my purse, on my desk, in the car, on my nightstand, and about 5 backup in my stash.
I’m going to have to try TF’s Venus Rising though.
You know, looking back, I realize that when I first started wearing makeup, my first lipstick was Paula Dorf First Love, a color that Pink Parfait very much reminds me of. I don’t have anything like it in my collection now. And I don’t see anything in the dupes list that I’m in love with quite as much. But $32 for one lipstick…
