Dior Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss
Dior Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) was recently reformulated and released in several shades, some familiar from past formulations (Dior seems to update their lip ranges every couple of years). The formula is supposed to be sheer, hydrating, glossy, and plumping using “hyaluronic acid spheres that capture and retain surrounding water … [so lips] appear full with lasting moisture.” I can’t really tell the difference between this formula and past ones in the range; it’s a semi-sheer to semi-opaque formula (from what shades I bought) with a very smooth, lightweight texture that is comfortable to wear, lightly hydrating, and shiny. The non-sticky texture and smooth, gel-like feel are the two highlights of the formula, as they’re just easy to wear and throw on. The formula wore between three and four hours for me. I didn’t notice any scent or taste. They come in three types–sparkling, watery, and iridescent–with varying levels of shimmer and color.
Dior Shock (465) Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a sheer, pink-tinged base with light pink and silver sparkle. It has a “sparkling” finish according to the brand. It accentuated the natural pink tones of my lips while adding evenly dispersed sparkle and glossy shine. The gloss was comfortable to use and wear, though it lasted for two and a half hours. The formula was lightly hydrating while worn. Jouer St. Tropez (LE, $16.00) is warmer (95% similar). Chanel Charming (LE, $30.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Oyster Girl (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). MAC Sugar Coat (LE, $18.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Pagoda (P, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay SPL (P, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). LORAC True Beauty (LE, ) is less shimmery (90% similar). Maybelline Blushing Petal (505) (P, $8.99) is more shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop RSVP (LE, $10.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop Here's 2 U (DC, $10.00) is warmer (90% similar). Dior Dolly Pink (453) (P, $29.50) is darker, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop Menagerie (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Dior Cruise (676) Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and fine, pink pearl. It has a “watery” finish. The color payoff was semi-sheer–a noticeable amount of color (at least on my lips) but not enough to fully cover, so your natural lip color may alter the way this looks compared to how it looks on me. The texture was a little thinner and didn’t leave my lips looking as smooth as some of the other shades did. This shade wore for three hours on me but was hydrating. Chanel Pinctada (214) (LE, $30.00) is lighter, brighter (95% similar). MAC Ceremonial (LE, $20.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Bubble Butt (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Dior Hollywood (688) (P, $35.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Electric Violet (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, cooler (90% similar). MAC Vibrant Vibe (P, $22.00) is brighter (90% similar). ColourPop Pony Up (DC, $10.00) is less shimmery, glossier (90% similar). MAC La Salsa (LE, ) is more shimmery, darker, glossier (90% similar). Sephora Glossy Pink (16) (P, $12.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (85% similar). Maybelline Mystical Magenta (610) (P, $8.99) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Dior Diorsphere (996) Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark, plummy purple with light pink and silver sparkle. It has a “sparkling” finish. The coverage was semi-sheer with enough tint to be noticeable but let a lot of the natural lip color come through. It applied evenly and had a smooth, lightweight consistency that was comfortable to wear. This shade wore for three and a half hours and was moisturizing. Sephora Pretty Princess (LE, $14.00) is warmer (90% similar). NARS Oasis (DC, $25.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Fixed!
That was fast 😀
I love the sparkle in Shock 🙂
Awesome, Al! 🙂
Only Shock looks like something I would actually wear, but it has pretty sad weartime, though.
What I am really hoping for as I admire Shock’s iridescent sparkle, is that Sephora brings back those stunning Holographic Lip Gels from last winter!
Yeah, these glosses are super comfy but not the longest-wearing!
I like those although I wish they were a bit more pigmented. Diorsphere especially could be amazing if it were more purple on the lips.
I’d love it if more brands did a sheer/medium/opaque range.
I like them all once again! Diorsphere would be my choice though.
Nice!
The packaging is gorgeous, but the gloss isn’t impressing me –to sheer and/or too much chunky sparkle 🙁
Bummer!
I do love shimmery glosses, but I think I’ll stick to my favourite brand when it comes to glosses, less expensive too. (The brand is MAC, by the way.)
They are all pretty, Diorosphere is my favourite of the three.
MAC wears a bit longer, too!
Diorosphere is currently my favourite lipgloss. I love it.
Yay!
They’re so beautiful! Dior Shock is like sparkly lip gloss heaven!!!!! I wish it wore longer, but I never mind whipping out a Dior lip product to reapply know what I mean? 😉
I wish Diorosphere was more purple. Le sigh. These silly made up Dior-based names like “Diorosphere” and “Diororific” always make me laugh they’re so ridic.
As long as you don’t mind reapplying, they are nice 🙂
