Dior Pink Corolle (859) Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Pink Corolle (859)
Dior Pink Corolle (859) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($65.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, pink-themed color story that included four shimmery shades and one matte shade. The eyeshadows were decent to good with the middle shade being sheerer and a little powdery, and those characteristics made it the worst performer of the five.

Pink Corolle #1
Pink Corolle #1 is a bright, light pink with subtle, warm undertones and a smooth, metallic sheen. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and sat well on bare skin. The texture was soft and smooth to the touch, dense but not too firmly-pressed into the pan, and blendable. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have a "creamy and comfortable texture" that is long-wearing and has "intense color" (or "high-pigment"). There are five finishes that can be found within various palettes: matte, satin, shimmer, metallic, highlighter, and glitter, though there aren't specific descriptions by finish, unfortunately.
There were a few shades that seemed more sparkly and were sheerer, more like layering shades, while the other finishes tended to be pigmented. In general, the texture was moderately dense with the matte shades being slightly thinner and a smidgen powdery in the pan compared to the satin, shimmer, and metallic shades.
Aside from those more sparkly shades, the formula was blendable, pigmented, easy to work with, and lasted an average of eight hours on me (without a primer).

Pink Corolle #2
Pink Corolle #2 is a medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product. The consistency was slightly firmer with some denseness, but it wasn’t too difficult to pick up, just a bit more pressure than “average” I’d say. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Pink Corolle #3
Pink Corolle #3 is a very light, pinky-peach with warm undertones and fine, pink and gold pearl. It had medium pigmentation that wasn’t buildable; for the best application and coverage, I’d recommend applying it with a dampened brush. The texture was soft, lightly powdery, and had a smidgen of fallout if I wasn’t careful. It lasted for seven hours before showing signs of fading.

Pink Corolle #4 is a medium-dark, plummy mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was rather shiny and had a creamier, denser consistency that still picked up well with a dry brush. It had nearly opaque color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Pink Corolle #5
Pink Corolle #5 is a medium-dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was smooth to the touch, more velvety with some substance, but there was a touch of powderiness in practice. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Gorgeous colour story
These are not my colours for the most part but this is SO pretty and my eye is really drawn to how lovely they look. I’d love this as a fabric to make a blouse or a scarf!
This is gorgeous, but at $65.00, it’s too rich for my blood!
Although like Mariella above, these shades are not for me – but I can say how well co-ordinated they look and that I think shade #4 is a perfect addition to the quint. It’s good to see the quality is still there, even though it is now shade 3 the pesky one.
Oooh! I want this to wear with Clionadh Sunbeam! Or by itself!
Sadly, this will be perfect for 2-3 months down the road when Scunci goes. It’ll cover up the telltale red lids from mourning. But I love it for happy times, too
