The DiorBlush formula is supposed to be a pigmented and blendable powder blush. The texture, while blendable on the skin, was powdery and looked somewhat powdery/dry against my skin (normal at the moment). It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable coverage. There seemed to be the slightest bit of shimmer in the product, but it read as a traditional matte finish applied. On me, the blush started to fade after six and a half hours of wear.

Ugh, I can see from the swatch how powdery and dry it looks. Pretty color but very dupe-able, such a shame. I like how the Clarins cream shadows look on your eyes
So powdery!! 🙁
Christine, I looked up those Clarins shadows on the Nordstrom’s site just so I could see the colours and I was met with the message that “this item does not ship to Canada”. I’m pretty hopeful, though, that we’ll be getting them when Clarins launches their new stuff up here.
I bet it will! I’m guessing Nordstrom just put it up early – they seemed to get a few of the new spring lines in already (about a week or so ago) and nobody else had them up. I just saw Dior trickle onto Neiman Marcus/Sephora (partially) and YSL hit Neiman Marcus (previously just on YSL’s website) as well.
nooooooooo! so disappointing! This blush looks really beautiful, I was really hoping it would perform well. But unfortunately it seems many of dior’s products disappoint.
The pattern is gorgeous but texture could be improved! Usually high-end products like Dior, it’s the texture that feels different (better) but NOPE!
Aw, what a letdown. It looks so pretty in the pan.
I agree!
I had the suspicion, when I first looked at your swatches, Christine, that this was going to be powdery and dry. With a nicer finish/texture, this would have been a beautiful colour.
It is a disappointment in the end! Oh, well, at least just the highlighters will tempt you now 😉
Hahaha – you make me chuckle, Christine. It amazes me how you “know” or “remember” your posters and their myriad weaknesses, etc.
😀
Am I the only one who has a funny qualm about the pretty textures in products? I’d rather they were all plain because I actually do feel a bit of a pang when I see the pretty flowers or stars or hearts starting to vanish and get all messed up! I think the pretty designs on the surface should be declared ILLEGAL 😉
I am so immune to that now, hahaha.
But also, I have noticed that a lot of the embossed patterns like the one in Dior’s blush palette last quite awhile. I feel like you’d really have to make it a daily blusher to start wearing it down!
I feel ya! I made it a rule to use everything that I buy, even if I bought it because of the embossing. There’s that brief moment of hesitation the first time I use it, and then I just jump right in, and then once the pattern is marred, it loses its special allure on me, so I no longer feel bad. Hah!
This blush looked so promising. It is a bummer that it didn’t work out. But that is good for me too as now I really can justify not getting it 🙂
🙁
Well, at least it’s easy to dupe! Really, I just wanted to say that I like the new placement of the makeup look at the end of the post (although it may have been there for weeks!)! Your eye look is lovely!
At least there is that!
I thought the swatch looked kind of chalky, but I’m sorry to see this low of a grade.
Same 🙁
I love the embossed floral pattern on this but the powdery texture would look awful on my dry cheeks! I’ll buy one of the beautiful highlighters instead!
Sounds good to me 🙂
It does look powdery and sheerer. I could excuse the sheerness if it didn’t look chalky dry… 🙁
🙁
Super easy pass. Way too powdery looking and cheap DS looking. Especially considering the price point for this! Also, this color is much too generic and common.
Agreed — surprisingly powdery!
Normally, I would have snatched this up without seeing it in person but now I congratulate myself on waiting for your review. It is pinker than I was hoping for and I certainly don’t need a powdery look on my older face. Thank you for saving me $$. Now, I look forward to Guerlain’s new blush and the liquid ones in the tube from YSL.
My pleasure, Mimi!
Oh, and it looked so promising in the pan.
Quite a lot of dupes, but I think I should really at leastt hit pan on one of my blushes before thinking of getting a new one. 🙂
Thank goodness for several dupes!
I love it of course!! *sigh* It’s those flowers but then I love the color too! On the fence about this.
Aww!
Yikes!!! Dior usually does better blushes than this! 🙁
Oh well, no biggie I have a zillion Dior blushes and at least there’s the highlighters! 😉
Phew 🙂
Not that it’s special embossing at all but your comments reminded me I noticed yesterday that my Nars Audacious lipstick in Anna has been worn down to the rs. Lol that’s nuts they’ve only been out a little over a year right? And I have 6 shades of that formula! I wonder if my other lippies think ” Anna Anna Anna” (aging myself with the Brady bunch Marsha Marsha Marsha ref) lol As far as this topic I repeat my rant from the e/s quint. Shame on you Dior! It’s just sitting on the skin and you have Jedi level blending skills. I shudder to think what I would look like wearing this. BOOOOO Dior!
Hahaha! 😉 I bet they are a wee bit jealous of Anna there!
