Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams Nail Lacquer

Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “candied pink” and has a “3D holographic” finish. It’s a brightened, medium-dark fuchsia pink with gold-to-orange flakies. It has a jelly-like finish and look to it. I don’t have anything that looks like this, but if you had a brightened pink jelly and a flakie top coat, you could probably dupe it that way. Zoya Lara is similar in color but has a cream finish. OCC Palare is slightly bluer in tone and doesn’t have a jelly-like finish.

The color coverage is mostly opaque after two coats, but there’s some translucency from the jelly-like finish. It is a thicker polish (and I’d say thicker than a lot of jelly finishes), though it didn’t seem to have any real problems applying smoothly and evenly. It did seem to take longer than usual to dry, though.  I tested out the wear of Sweet Dreams, and it wore well for seven days without chipping, though there was minor tip wear, which is on par for what I normally see when I wear one of Deborah Lippmann’s polishes.

Beautiful ! I am planning to buy some Deborah Lippmann ( online, US website if Ican’t have them here ), and this one is definitely on my list, with Mermaid’s Dream and Across the Universe. Deborah Lippmann polishes are gorgeous, esp. those with glitters in the formula, never seen such beautiful polishes before.
Thanks for the pretty swatch !

Any recommendations for a flakies/shimmery (not full-on glitter) top coat? That would give my nail polish collection a whole new life!

I don’t own any Dororah Lippmann polishes yet but I am LOVING this one, Ray of Light, and Mermaids Dream! I’ll have to make an exception to my drugstore-only nail polish rule because there is nothing else quite like these Lippmann polishes out there!

Wow I have never seen a jelly flakie! This is the only Deborah Lippman polish that I feel that I have to own. The other colors I’ve seen are nice, but don’t seem that special, but this was is really gorgeous and unique!

O.P.I. “Pink Me I’m Good” is similar but ever so slightly lighter and the glitter is regular shape and size instead of flakies.

I absolutely loooove this! I’m not much of a nail polish person, but this looks awesome. Christine- I love the “3D Holographic” finish, and would love to have a top coat like that… Any suggestions? Like I said, I’m not much of a nail polish person so I have no idea where to even start!

@CiaraAinsleyFears Essie has one with small flakes in their Luxe collection called Shine of the Times and it looks great on EVERYTHING.

The first thing that came to mind after seeing the pics was “Barbie”-but not in a bad way. I would never wear it though, *only* because I don’t wear bright pinks (I love them on others though).

I have this & it’s my first of her polishes I bought then I got others. I loved the color but, hated it’s too sheer & needed tons of coats to not show the nail white. Disappointed.

I have this and Ray of Light, out of the two jelly/flakie polishes, this is by far my favorite. I love the pink jelly and the flakies are really pretty. It isn’t immature or cheap looking at all. It is really quite striking in person. It is subtle enough but in the sun it really looks pretty. I have really been loving Deborah Lippmann polishes lately. I know they are expensive, but the colors are so pretty.

hi I am from Nepal i want to know can we use foundation for daily use ? and what can we use first sunscreen or moisturizer please advice me.

I think the zoya’s  Chloe Fleck Effect is close dupe but its not that pink, also why do they keep describing these flake polishes as “holographic” when its just a flakie polish? Holo and flakie are far from each other.
