ColourPop x Summer 2017 Pressed Powder Shadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Lil' Boat
ColourPop Lil’ Boat Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark brown with warm, red undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin. The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and almost cream-like as there was more substance there, which helped it stay true-to-color on the lid. This shade started to fade on me after eight hours of wear.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Board Shorts
ColourPop Board Shorts Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark, golden bronze with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation with a soft, slightly looser texture that seemed more prone to sheering out and having some fallout during application (possibly due to the sparkle in it). It blended out without much trouble, and the color stayed on well for eight hours.

Tiny Tangerines
ColourPop Tiny Tangerines Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium, bluish-teal with cool undertones and a metallic finish. The pigmentation was fantastic and very true-to-pan. It had a soft, smooth consistency that was dense enough to help the eyeshadow adhere well to bare skin but still remained blendable. It lasted for eight hours on me.

Muscle Beach
ColourPop Muscle Beach Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium, bluish aqua with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had medium pigmentation, which wasn’t too buildable on its own. It was easier to use over a primer, but it was still very prone to sheering out and applying unevenly. The texture was soft to the touch but incredibly powdery, which resulted in fallout and poor application. It started to fade on me after seven hours of wear.

Two Piece
ColourPop Two Piece Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark blue with strong, cool undertones and a pearly sheen. The color payoff was opaque, while the consistency was soft, a touch dusty, but blendable and adhered evenly to bare skin without losing its intensity. This shade started to fade on me after eight hours of wear.

Sad about Muscle Beach, but what a pretty summer collection!! The brown, yellow, and blue remind me of sand, sun, and ocean
Not wholly surprised given the finish + shade but I was rooting for Muscle Beach nonetheless!
Such pretty colors! I haven’t given ColourPop’s pressed shadows a try yet.
What’s holding you back or how have you resisted so far? 😉 Share your secrets!
Go there. Right now!
HA! Lol’d when I read this
I agree. I’ve been pretty happy with my now several CP pressed powder eyeshadows
Aw, what a shame about Muscle Beach. The rest of the colors are really pretty, though. Rose All Day is my favorite of the group.
Yeah, Muscle Beach could have been better 🙁
Muscle Beach = D and Snapdragon = A? What’s up with that? They are super close. Knew I should have bitten last summer. Mufe duped by many of these, but may just fall for Rose. Even now that I know it’s rose-ay, no accent aigue on an iPad, still find the name a tad odd. CP really does give young people without flush wallets the chance to build a phenomenal stash. A real asset to the color cosmetics community.
Snapdragon is a Super Shock Shadow, so the formula is entirely different to start with!
Imagine going all gaga over a bunch of shades only to find out that you’ve got very close dupes for each, and therefore just saved $20 bucks! LOL ?
But for those who don’t, the 4 that rated well are definitely worth getting! Lil’Boat kinda pulled at me, and I don’t usually get excited over a brown or neutral matte eyeshadow, but there is a richness to it. Time to revisit my No Me Queda Más.
Yay for saving $20! 🙂
I was really hoping muscl beach would perform better.
Loved the swatches when I first saw them on Instagram, and it’s impressive that such an affordable product performs so well most of the time! Also love the aquatic mermaid look you went for!
A collection of colours that show what summer is about. Gorgeous shades to play around with.
Interesting array of names here …. Tiny Tangerines is blue, Rose All Day is anything but rosy …. hmmm ….
I just watched a ColourPop video yesterday, and it sounded like they did that deliberately… unexpected colors by name.
I hate it lol
Does it bother anyone else that tiny tangerines is blue and rose all day is green?? They should clearly be some shade of orange and pink right?!?!
Tiny Tangiers is soooo good! I’m not used to wearing those shades but man it’s great!
I love Lil’ Boat! Such a pretty warm shade!
Hey Christine! I know this was a while ago, but do you know if Muscle Beach might apply better over a cream base (like the NYX Milk eye pencil)? I love the color and know that these shades can be hard to work with!
It would have more pigmentation + pop more, but it might be a little harder to blend along the edges since it was more powdery!
muscle beach is discontinued already?
