ColourPop x Hocus Pocus Creme Gel Liners Reviews & Swatches
Black Flame Candle
ColourPop Black Flame Candle Crème Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium green with warmer, more olive undertones and slightly cooler, more emerald and fine gold pearl. The end result was still a “warmer” toned hue to my eye. The texture was smooth and pulled across my skin without tugging, but it didn’t distribute product as evenly as desired.
It had more semi-sheer color payoff in a single layer, which I tried to build up but the slip in the formula made it inclined to push around product. This resulted in thicker areas that were more pigmented and other areas that were sheerer and appeared patchy. Even though it did not seem dry, actual application to my lower lash line had a more ragged edge than ideal. It lasted for seven hours before fading visibly.

Sistas
ColourPop Sistas Crème Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deeper, coppery red with a slightly metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation in a single stroke, which applied fairly evenly to my skin but I’d be careful about layering it up too much as it was more prone to pushing product around.
The texture had enough slip that it didn’t tug on my lash line, but it was a bit thinner and could have been smoother as the edges appeared a little uneven (but were hard to smudge/soften). It stayed on decently for seven and a half hours before fading/thinning.

Trick or Treat
ColourPop Trick or Treat Crème Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a muted, medium plum with warmer, brownish undertones and slightly cooler violet and bronze pearl. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in one pass, which built up to mostly opaque coverage with a second or third layer; the only issue was that it didn’t build up as smoothly or as evenly as it should have.
It looked thicker in some places as sometimes the eyeliner tip pushed the product around instead of layering up. The eyeliner had a smooth enough texture that it didn’t tug or pull on my lash line, and it was quick to dry down as I could not diffuse or soften the edge immediately after applying it! There were signs of fading/thinning apparent after eight hours of wear.

If I were a fan of the Hocus Pocus franchise, I would be very upset by the lousy performance of these. Only Sistas is even barely passable.
Wow – these are very, very average, nothing like their past creme gel liners at all. Something is going on in management at CP that allows such shoddy products to be released into the market.
These are a pretty sad offering! Too bad, it was such a cute idea.
I think that CP read the UD liner playbook. Shouldn’t have.
Such a shame, especially the green one – such a unique shade!
Well, these are more of a Halloween “trick” rather than a “treat”. Pretty dismal.
I’m starting to get away from Colourpop and after their last collection having been a bit culturally insensitive, I don’t think I will be purchasing from them this year. A low buy from Colourpop if you will! I’m looking for some improvement on their formulas (like the gel liners and mascara) and some new innovative products. Maybe it’s my lack of desire to purchase more or my tastes have changed, but I don’t feel the need to collect anymore and find products I want to use more consistently.
