ColourPop Starburst, Round Midnight, Paper Moon Ultra Glossy Lips Reviews & Swatches
Starburst
ColourPop Starburst Ultra Glossy Lip ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) has a clear base with multi-colored sparkle. It had more of a glittery finish, but the creamy, smooth texture kept it feeling plush and cushiony on my lips. It was intended to be clear, so it was, as anticipated, sheer with a light-medium level of “coverage” from the sparkle. If you’re looking for a sparkly, clear gloss, this is a nice one. The glossy spread the glitter evenly across my lips and smoothed out my lip lines. It wore well for three hours and was moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.11 oz. - $90.91 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "hi-shine" with a "non-sticky" texture that "feels amazing" and includes five finishes "from 3-D pearl to sheer tinted colour." They are designed to be a sheerer formula, so many shades are sheer with a smattering of shimmer or sparkle and then a few are more tinted with sheer to semi-sheer coverage but no shimmer. Each gloss has a short, brush-type applicator, which worked better than I expected and didn't leave streaky results behind (in general). They had a sweet, vanilla scent but no discernible taste.
The "Tinted" finish ("glass-like shine with tint of sheer colour and no shimmer") was the least consistent--sometimes prone to unevenness and getting into lip lines, particularly with deeper/richer shades, whereas Pearlescent ("glass-like shine with subtle shimmer") and Prismatic ("glass-like shine with floating multi dimensional pearl and glitters") are sheer to translucent with the major difference being finer shimmer in the Pearlescent finish and larger, more glitter-like particles in the Prismatic finish. Both finishes tended to look plush and more smoothing on my lips. The Creme finish is a "medium-coverage gloss with a creamy finish that does not contain any pearls or glitter." The Metallic is described as a "full-coverage gloss with a mix of pearl and metallic finishes."
The wear time varied by shade but the sheerer ones tended to wear between two and three hours as the formula was, indeed, non-sticky and smooth, which made them lighter-weight and comfortable to wear but shorter wearing. A lot of the sheerer shades ran together, so I would recommend just picking up one or two rather than several as the differences are likely to be lost! Also, keep in mind that sheerer lip colors can look different from person to person due to much of the natural lip color coming through.

Round Midnight
ColourPop Round Midnight Ultra Glossy Lip ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a pale, milky pink base with barely-there pink micro-shimmer. It really looked more like a cream-like finish on my lips, and it had the effect of lightening my natural lip color. It had sheer coverage, as described, and went on fairly evenly with just a touch of product getting into my lip lines (which is impressive given the lightness of the hue). The gloss had a lightweight, non-sticky consistency that was plush and comfortable to wear. This shade stayed on well for two hours and was hydrating over time.

Paper Moon
ColourPop Paper Moon Ultra Glossy Lip ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a medium pink with warmer undertones and gold sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage with a fair amount of sparkle and micro-glitter. The texture was lightweight, smooth, and cushion-like as it felt plusher and a bit creamy, though it wasn’t heavy or sticky on my lips. The pearl and glitter spread well across my lips for even dispersion. It lasted well for three hours and was moisturizing over time.

Starburst is everything I want in a clear gloss topcoat. Plush, even distribution of sparkle, lasts a decent amount of time, and the price is a nice incentive, too!
Paper Moon for the name. It doesn’t hurt that it looks beautiful, too. I still remember when my parents and I went to see Paper Moon in the theater. Wow. What a movie!
I just ordered Paper Moon on a whim (after deciding to pick up Dreamaholic based on your review) and now I’m super excited to get them both! Gorgeous 🙂
Yayy!! 🙂 Hope you love both!
I purchased Paper Moon. I really dislike the brush applicator. It has already started fraying and I’m partial to doe foots, I think they are much better for my lip shape. However, I’m willing to put up with it because this color is beautiful! I have barely pigmented lips and this color shows on me with just the right amount of sparkle. Layers well with other products (I use it sometimes to top the CP Lux Lipstick in Angel City). It also feels comfortable on the lips and doesn’t get all tacky or weird as it wears off.
