ColourPop Sprinkle a Little Magic Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Sprinkle a Little Magic
ColourPop Sprinkle a Little Magic 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, limited edition nine-pan eyeshadow palette that included four matte eyeshadows and five shimmery eyeshadows. It was a green-themed color story with pops of pink/mauve throughout. The eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and easy enough to work with, though some of the shades were powdery or had a bit of fallout during application (though generally consistent with ColourPop’s current eyeshadow formula).

Second Star
Second Star is a darker, pinky-peach with warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was moderately powdery, so I had to be careful to avoid fallout, but it was blendable and was a more velvety matte that yielded mostly opaque coverage. It stayed on well for seven hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Small Fairy
Small Fairy is a medium-dark gold with subtle, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with a soft, more loosely-pressed consistency that had some fallout during application. To minimize the fallout, you’ll want to pat it onto the skin with a fingertip or a dampened brush. It lasted decently for eight hours but had light fallout over time.

Big Magic
Big Magic is a muted, light-medium rosy mauve with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was still substantial enough not to lose its coverage when applied to bare skin and blended out. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Tink
Tink is a bright, light mint green with subtle, warm undertones and cooler, bluish shimmer and a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered evenly and smoothly to bare skin. The texture was lightly creamy, moderately dense but not thick, and picked up well with a dry brush. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Pixie Dust
Pixie Dust is a light, bright chartreuse green with strong, warm yellow undertones and a metallic finish. The texture was soft, slightly drier and more loosely-pressed, which resulted in some fallout during application when I applied it dry. I’d recommend using it with a fingertip or a dampened brush to get more even coverage and to minimize fallout. It had mostly opaque, buildable color payoff that lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Neverland
Neverland is a medium-dark forest green with subtle, warm undertones and cooler-toned, fine emerald green pearl that gave it a soft, metallic finish. The consistency was lightly emollient to the touch, smooth, and was best applied with a dampened brush or else really pressed/patted onto skin to avoid fallout. The eyeshadow had opaque color coverage that wore nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Beautiful eye look, Christine! :o)
Thanks, Sandy!
I love this! Not going to get it, but if I didn’t already have 50 palettes…
On another note: Christine, is there any way to remove that AMC pop up at the bottom of the screen? It gets me every time and makes it difficult to see what I’m looking at. I get the need for ads, obviously! This one is just particularly pernicious and affects the experience of coming to the site, and having to X it out every time I return to the main feed is annoying. I hope this doesn’t come across rudely–that’s not how it is intended!
Hi Jess!
Could you screen shot and send to christine[at]temptalia.com? I don’t get the same ads, but if I get a visual, I can send it to the adops team (third-party) and have them figure out the vendor.
Will do! Thank you. 🙂
Impulsively ordered this palette earlier today, and I’m glad I did! While not perfect, it sure looks like a very cheery, fun palette to play around with. I adore the eye look you did using it! Perfect for summer (or what’s left of it!)
Thanks a lot, Nancy!
This is actually a really good green themed palette and it’s good to see CP do something other than pink palettes. The colour story is quite cohesive and the shades work well together. I do like the Nevermind, Small Fairy and Place Between shades the best.
It’s nice to see them really lean into green here – not just like… tons of neutrals and a pop of green, which I wouldn’t have been surprised to see with a Disney collab.
This is a fun palette. I like it a lot and though I don’t use a lot of green I do like it, the colour, I mean. I might get this at a later date as for now I have enough new palettes to play with.
I love the look you did!
Thanks a lot, Helene!
I would have bought this palette without hesitation, but many shades have carmine. My eyes react badly to that ingredient so I will have to pass. Oh well, it looks very nice though but I have to stick with their vegan shadows/palettes for that reason.
This is a cute palette. I got such Sydney Grace x Temptalia collaboration vibes that I did this comparison of shadows to “dupe the vibe” for fun:
CP – Sleep : SG x T – Desert Spoon
CP – Second Star : SG x T – Dearest Constant
CP – Small Fairy : SG x T – Exquisite Opulence
CP – Big Magic : SG x T – October Odyssey
CP – Tink : SG x T – Borealis
CP – Neverland : SG x T – Jealousy’s Descent and Galactic Muse
CP – Pixie Dust : SG x T – Earthbound
CP – Awake : SG x T – Interstellar
CP – Place Between : SG x T – Sumptuous Serendipity
Thank you for this!!
This is a pretty color story and, thankfully, it’s different than what CP has released in the last year. That being said I can dupe these colors with betters results using my CP The Child palette and your Sidney Grace collab.
