ColourPop Really Ruby Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Really Ruby
ColourPop Really Ruby Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, ruby-inspired color story that included two shimmers and two matte shades housed in a clear, plastic compact. The lighter, peachy shimmer was more prone to fallout and sheerer, due to the drier texture, while the other three shades were more consistent and higher-performing.

Cardinal Jewel
Cardinal Jewel is a light-medium, yellowy-peach base with warm undertones and flecks of pink and gold micro-sparkle. The eyeshadow had a drier, more loosely-pressed feel, which made it hard to apply evenly and particularly prone to fallout during application. The product had medium to semi-opaque color coverage. I had the best luck applying it with a dampened brush. It lasted well for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Huge Deal
Huge Deal is a rich, medium red with moderate, warm undertones and a bright, metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, almost cream-like texture that was easy to work with using a dry brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Status Symbol
Status Symbol is a deep pink with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage paired with a soft, velvety-smooth texture that was blendable without sheering out too readily. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

A Fortune
A Fortune is a lighter, reddish-burgundy with cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was a touch drier and thinner than most of the brand’s matte eyeshadows have been, but I did feel like it made it easier to build the color up and to minimize fallout. It had mostly opaque, buildable color payoff that lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Super pretty quad, but also one that I *think* I can dupe with everything I have.
Nice little quad of ruby jewel tones. I think these quads in various jewel tones are useful for those who just want a little bit of a difference in a colour range rather than buying a whole palette.
