ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadows (Part 3) Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Top Notch
ColourPop Top Notch Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.035 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” It had good pigmentation, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The consistency was soft, lightly dusty but not too messy or fallout-prone during application, and blendable in practice. This shade wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Cloud Nine
ColourPop Cloud Nine Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.035 oz.) is a dark brown with subtle, warm red undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied fairly evenly and smoothly with just a little extra effort to blend out the edges to avoid patchiness. The texture was smooth, a touch dusty, and finely-milled in the pan. This shade started fade on me after seven and a half hours of wear.

Lost and Found
ColourPop Lost and Found Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.035 oz.) is a bright, medium blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage, which I did not find built up well, so it always had a faded, uneven, and patchy look–even over a primer. The texture was quite dusty, which made it prone to sheering out as well. It lasted for six and a half hours on me before fading.

Piece of Cake
ColourPop Piece of Cake Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.035 oz.) is a medium-dark, purplish blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a soft, lightly dusty texture that made it harder to apply and build up to get better coverage and true-to-pan intensity. This shade started to fade after six and a half hours on me.

Backseat
ColourPop Backseat Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.035 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark blue with cool undertones and a frosted finish. It was a “warmer” blue, so it didn’t run quite as rich or as deep as a more cobalt-hued blue would. The consistency was a little firmer in the pan, though it still yielded good pigmentation and was fairly easy to apply and blend out on the lid. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

Save It for Later and Backseat are beautiful. Upon first seeing the latter, I thought it might be too cool for me, but reading your impression has made me want to swatch it myself.
Let me know if you end up trying it!
Save It For Later looks great, I want it NOW 😉 Top Notch is also a lovely color, why the B rating? Because it needs to be built a little?
Yes, it wasn’t as pigmented, didn’t wear as long as average, and the texture was decent but not spectacular.
Piece of Cake is *such* a beautiful color, I really wish it performed better! It looks like its dupes struggle with performance, though, too. And Lost and Found! At least I have MUFE I212. It often seems like the colors I love most are hard to make. I do like Backseat, but have MUFE ME230.
It’s a tough color to do right, IMO! It’s usually better over primer / built-up.
Oh Lost and Found would have been such a unique shade in my collection! It’s too bad it applied so chalky and uneven!
Darn!
Oooh, those 1st three, plus Backseat, are absolutely lovely! While I do own quite a few teals, I don’t believe any of mine have as much of a bluer tone to them as does Backseat. So just maybe I will need it!
And then CP’s attempt to do matte pastel blue and purple looks just beastly. They need to instead bring back their regular formula versions of these!
I know, right? Those two were super disappointing!
It’s too bad the matte pastels are so-so. Backseat is pretty, but I feel like they would’ve nailed the shade in their hybrid cream powder formula.
Yes, it would definitely be better in a cream formula!
For a brown, cloud nine is nice. I like that it’s not too red or yellow but it’s still warm.
Glad you liked it, Erin!
Love Backseat and Save It For Later, but the others I personally would not use. The blues are a tad underwhelming and the browns are fairly common shades.
I wish the pops of colors were better!
I’m really digging colourpop’s metallic pressed shadows!!!
Those are the most consistent!
I really like Backseat, but since I have dupes in both Urban Decay and MUFE I’ll pass.
Money saved!
I really like Backseat. It’s not a colour I generally use, though so I doubt I’ll get it.
